Hello! So I'm completely new to the idea of nudism or naturalism, and I guess I have questions.
-Why might one choose a nude lifestyle?
-How does it work for those who live in colder climates? (I'm from the midwest-Iowa-USA)
-Is it expected that your genital region be shaved/trimmed?
    -What is the etiquette?

Ya see, I'm interested in it because I just love being naked, aha. I found a local nudist club and I'd really like to partake. I was talking to my boyfriend about the two of us traveling to a nudist beach this spring and staying a few nights, but I know nothing about nudism at all.
For now I'm just going to embrace nudism in my room and try to enjoy it- but it's so cold this fall! :C Thanks for any info you can offer! :D

The nudist lifestyle is really for those who feel constrained by clothing. Being amongst others who feel the same is liberating. If you are in a colder climate you might want to call your local nudist club and ask how they manage things.

You aren't expected to shave or trim your genital region - its really about being as natural as you want.

Etiquette is really about being respectful and enjoying being nude. Its obviously not cool to stare at others or to be overtly sexual. Acting and feeling natural is the key.

    Good luck to you.

The ettiquite that's most emphasized is to bring your own towel to place on all seats and surfaces before you sit down.

You might also have to check with local laws because your profile says that you are 16.

I think that the etiquette for you being trimmed or not / how and when your nude comes down to your preference and what you are comfortable with.

Laci, if you are who you say you are, you are only 16. Nothing against nudists or nudity....but give yourself at least 2 more years when you turn 18 to decide if that is what you really want.
If you were my child, I would say no way in hell to you at this point and tie you up if I had to. LOL

    @ laci
you shouldn't worry too much and look for rules and customs. If you really have a nude beach in reach, just go there next summer and try out. Probably you will getall your concerns answered just by being open to experience.
Colder regions: nudiusm should be fun, joy de vivre - no dogma. It's not a shame to make use of clothes if the weather is too cold for going bare. Sometimes a blanket in reach is also a good alternative, i often use this at home in the time of spring / fall, when it's ok to go nude while doing something, but gettig uncomfortable when sitting e.g. watching tv. I have some easy care fleece blankets in reach for this.

why not at 16? Do you think it's a crime, or harmful, or immoral? Hey, it's just natural! I was taken to nudist holidays since i was a baby and i did survive it.

I am 16, but like Pixy said, I think it's natural and it's a fine choice to make. Personally I enjoy being nude because it's very natural and not to mention comfortable. I couldn't go full-nude right now as I live with my mom, but it's something I'm learning about. Not something i could embrace full time either, lol- I love oversized sweaters too much.

But thank you guys for the information! I'm looking at taking a two-day trip to a local nudist resort this spring and very excited to learn about a culture that I'm not familiar with!

No.....as I said nothing against it. Do people not read here or understand the English language with any comprehension at all. I speak with words from my heart......I am not coding.....
In all good consciousness, I had to say that to Laci being only 16. I mean 16 year olds are not legal to drink or much else. Tome, 16 is still a child age, and tht is what I would say to anyone I care about...give it to your 18, at least. but of course, I am not Laci's mom....and ultimately it is Laci's choice....and i will not fault her for it.

I was going with the school of thought that the brain is still developing at age 16 in leaps and bounds.....and at 18, she may be of different mind, is all...nothing moralistic about what I said.....and it is not a moral issue.....will she regret it later?
Pixy, I am glad you survived it.....I was brought up in saunas....but I always had a towel around me...guess I was always a bit modest, even in front of family, but we are all different and coming from different places, too...nothing wrong with any of it. :)
