Bananas Are Seriously Cool

They are hand held and come in a biodegradable wrapper. They are sweet and tasty inside. They are natures perfect treat..
Can you think of anything as cool as a banana?

 

Hmm. I was pretty fascinated by turning grapes into raisins by dehydrating them in the oven. Definitely not as cool as a banana but I was impressed. They tasted just like store bought raisins but a little bit better because I ate some of them while they were warm. Grapes can be frozen which is another cool grape fact. But I think bananas are definitely cooler.

Most people peel them wrong.

When you buy bananas they are grown together at the stem? which seems to be common for people to try and peel them from there to eat.

If you take the oposite end, basically flip the banana upside down and rip off the little black part part of it, it peels instantly when from the top not making you try and peel it.

Might sound crazy and i dont know banana terms but peel it from the bottom end, no the end grown.

Bananas are great. I eat them everyday. Better than a candy bar and cheaper too!

 

they're a source of potassium, and you can over do that. they can also be a wee bit fattening.

fruit generally come with nature's convenient packaging.

i can think of a lot of things that would be cooler then a banana, if they existed.

banana (minus peel) in a blender with sour cream, milk, and either fruit or chocklet or chocklet sweetened coffee. otherwise known as a smoothy.

haven't had either in a while.

 

Since the other way works just fine as well I like to think either way is a good way to peel it.

 

I posted this in the random facts thread, but up until a few weeks ago, I never knew the banana is actually classified as a berry.

And yes..........bananas are awesome.

 

They're awesome when they're exactly ripe or very slightly underripe, and not bruised.

When they're like ten minutes over ripe or bruised, suddenly they're disgusting mush, and make me want to puke....

As such, I don't really eat them. I will if I'm offered a perfect one, but I haven't had one in a few years. I won't buy them, because they'll be mushed before I'm even home.

If I'm picking out a fruit, I'm more likely to go with an apple. I eat them from the bottom towards the stem, right through the core. There's really nothing inedible or that needs to be avoided in an apple. And if they bruise or something it stays in one place, instead of oozing everywhere.

 

Something I learned when I lived in the jungle on the big island. You don't just pick the bananas if you want the plant to stay alive. You cut the whole plant down, take the fruit and then --miracle of miracles--you can see the plant start to regenerate itself as the center of the stub you left starts to rise. Viola--more bananers (as they say in Boston) later.

 

Very nice lightly grilled with a little butter.My mum used to make me this for teatime.If you're really in the mood for sweetness drizzle a little honey on top.
