I don't believe in what Fox commentator Bill O'Reilly says at all. He calls himself an "independent". That's funny. Or disgusting, I don't know which. But I do sometimes watch him, because I like to know my enemy.

Anyways, as anyone who watches The Factor w/ Bill O'Reilly knows, Bill thinks the US is threatened by what he terms "secular progressives" (whatever that even means). And he says that, in particular, the leftwing group MoveOn.org is "Despicable! Despicable!" (a direct quote).

What exactly does he think MoveOn.org is doing? Grinding puppies? Killing babies? Making war widows homeless?

I ask this here, because I sent an email to  Mr. O'Reilly asking him this very question, along with why he says this and still calls himself an independent. But he never replied.

1. Why would he reply to you?

2. He is certainly right leaning, but does take a more centerist stance when it comes to some issues.

As for moveon it is what they say and stand for that makes them horrible. They started during the Clinton impeachment when he lied under oath. And after that they kept getting worse and worse.

Bill O'Reilly is an intellectual bully very far to the right.

MoveOn is my favorite political organization. Sometimes they are too liberal, but about 80% of the time I totally agree with them.

You might be too far left if you think Bill is very far to the right. Look at his stance on social issues...more middle/left then right.

As for Moveleft they never ever will call out a liberal.

What are his views on gay marriage and marijuana legalization? I really don't know, since I dislike him so much.

He is for civil unions without restrictions. He said this should be a state issue and let people of each state decide. The federal government should be out of the debate. And that no one has "the right" to marry, just like driving a car it is a privlidge.

I like Moveon.  I ALSO don't think Bill O'Reilly is NEARLY as far right as many other people that have shows on fox news. Yes, I knew his stance on marijuana legalization. I can't think of any right now but there was various other things that he's more middle of the road in then various other people on that station. Like Hannity. Honestly Hannity is my very least fav person on that channel... he makes me so mad I can't even stand it. I would say O'Reilly, sure, he's right wing about a lot of stuff but not everything.

Okay, an example I can think of between O'Reilly and Hannity. With the shooting of Michael Brown O'Reilly I remember near the beginning saying something that at least sounded like he was giving thought to the possibility that the police were totally wrong in the situation. He didn't say that was the case but that it was possible and should be investigated furthur.  Hannity, on the other hand, was TOTALLY freaking out about how the police have such hard jobs and this particular police officer had to have been in the right because police are just so awesome and honest, etc.

O'Reilly at least at times tries to think through a situation before jumping to conclusions....even if many of his stances end up being right wing. He can at least sometimes think out of the box.

Moveon is far left, they started defending a criminal and have just kept it going. They have endorced an ad that compared President Bush to Hitler. They have had a number of false and misleading ads about John McCain and others. They are funded by the 1%er George Soros who made money betting against America, yet for some reason liberals love him and give him a pass.

So you think that the former President of the US is as bad as a man who killed 6 million Jews? That is sick to even think that, it is disrespectful to the Jews. And insulting to every decent human being.

Well, really, it's not that far off. Bush's misguided actions in invading Iraq have led to over 175,000 unnecessary deaths. At least 125,000 were civilians. Between 800,000 and 1,000,000 children have lost one or both parents.

Indeed. Even though I can't forgive Bill O'Reilly for starting the boycott of everything French 10 years ago, he can at least have decent content on his shows from time to time unlike many political newscasters. On the other hand, Shawn Hannity's bigotry drives me to the point of pure unfiltered rage.

If Bush was Hitler, Iraq would be the 52nd American state and the numbers you quoted would have skyrocketed exponentially.

Yea as much as I like to sometimes keep track of what various sides and people are saying-regardless of whether I agree with them or not, I'm not even sure WHY I sometimes turn on Hannity. At first I think it's because he is just so ridiculous that I found him kinda funny... but any humor in his ridiculousness quickly faded and now when ever I see any of his shows it's just pure anger I feel. He's just way too much to even be funny.

Please provide an example of bigotry.

Are you kidding? If you watch pretty much any given episode of Hannity there is an example of this.

For one he is extremely islamaphobic. In any case, the way I feel Hannity is is that there is thinly veiled hatred for pretty much every group of people that isn't, well a straight, white, conservative christian who also loves and adores cops and war and Israel.  I get the feeling that at least with O'Reilly, while sometimes I don't agree with him at all either, I don't feel prejudice and hate radiating off of him and at least feel he usually thinks through his conclusions. Hannity I feel is just stuck in the things I have underlined in this paragraph and makes all of his decisions (conclusions) based off of those world views only. He will ALWAYS chose the side of whatever is from the underlined word and not even consider anything to the contrary.

Again where is the bigotry?

Who is at war with America right now? Radical Islam. So it is a disservice to people if they are not called out. He does have Muslims on his show.

Maybe 6 Eyed Shaman can give you a more exact example but.... for me, I just get the strong impression that instead of calling out ONLY Muslim Extremists that he has a fear of Islam in general... It's something I can't really explain but just seems really obvious to me with some of the ways he says things.

Pompous know it all. Wrong on most counts. Haven't watched him in quite a while. Hannity=Verbal bully, interrupting, -  wrong headed rude piece of nothing.

This letter that the repubs sent. The vitriolic social intercourse now exhibited on blogs and net sites. The dysfunction of the government. IMO, courtesy, respect for others, the ability/desire to listen----is gone and I put the blame directly on the 24/7/365 right-wing talking heads that started in the 90s and continues unabated.

Analogies=  millions get vaccinated, a small percentage are going to die. Millions of people drive cars= a certain percentage are going to have wrecks. Cults form= a certain

percentage will be vulnerable to their pitch. Alrighty then----millions hear this vitriol, seeming hatred, disrespect, and outright lies OVER-AND OVER-AND OVER-AND OVER= A

certain PERCENTAGE are and have been unduly( IMO) influenced  and their actions show as much. The cheapening of social discourse has never been more apparent--and I

have been listening--A LONG TIME.  It is sickening and frankly, I NEVER thought this country could get so screwed up.

I find Hannity irritating, but he's not a bigot or islamophobe. The only Muslims he criticizes are the ones out cutting people's heads off. He has a representative of the Muslim faith on almost every night. I find it interesting they consistently refuse to answer his questions in regards to whether or not they support radical Islam, but at least he lets them have their say. He'd have a much more productive show if he let people talk more. I thought there'd be some balance when it was the Combs and Hannity show, but he totally overshadowed Combs' inability to assert himself.

O'Reilly is definitely in the middle in many important topics. He's on the right on others. And yes, he pulls for the left when it suits him. He's anti-gun to the point he recites tired old anti-gun lies, and defends President Obama's policies almost every night. Anything that might be controversial he pulls out "Well I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt" instead of a blanket tirade. He will will criticize Obama on important issues though. Some topics need to be discussed.

But he's certainly not the boogeyman the left like to paint him to be,

MoveOn is a George Soros created organization.  Why would I trust MoveOn -- which is nothing more than a platform for the corporate-owned Democratic Party to push their agendas -- OR Bill O'Reilly?

Neither one is better than the other, IMO.  Nor could either exist without the other.
