We Are Going To Convert Old Hip Galleries Into The Forums!

It looks like we're going to be able to convert & migrate the old Galleries (photopost) into this site!

So there will be many old categories showing up with images from hipgallery.com.

You should see the old albums and images show up in your present gallery.

This is assuming all goes well, of course...

Hopefully that will get underway tomorrow.

 

Hi, I'm going to need more info than that to fix the problem.

 

try creating a new album (again) and see if you can upload into it.

Oh, and you can't use flash uploader on mobiles. It's now been disabled completely (flash is a security risk).

 

I tested it and see it's mostly a browser problem.

Couldn't do it in Opera Mini - I got the same error msg.

Worked fine in regular Opera on android.

I found Opera mini doesn't do so well with the new site.

So try another browser on your mobile and see how that goes.

Also make sure you're using the full site on your mobile to upload images. Otherwise I don't even see the upload option.

If anyone cares about the subject of this thread, the old galleries are being transfered at this time.

 

Update: We are redoing the conversion process again, this time on the live site.

The conversion went well on a clone site, but we must do it again on the live site to be sure it works!

So the Galleries will be down for as long as a day while the conversion takes place... starting NOW!

 

Update: The conversion is going well, we're halfway done. I can already see some of my images showing up from the old galleries.

Patience.

 

BTW, we now show over 100,000 images on file.
We're heading towards 150,000 when the conversion is done.

And we'll have over 100 gallery categories! Plus almost 20,000 user albums.

We have to convert the comments too before we can go live with the combined setup.

Hopefully that won't add more than an hour or two.

Then we have to set permissions for every gallery category.

That will take a few hours... so don't hold your breath!

 

The Conversion is DONE! Finally! Had to manually add the images at the end. The last conversion didn't include the userids so that wasn't going to work...

Everyone should check their images to make sure permissions are set right!

If there's something you want to restrict, you can limit it to private (only you can see) or just friends or public.

You can also rearrange your images into albums if you like!

I believe a certain number of images did not make it, as well as ALL the comments on those old images...
