Other than replacing the Beatles at #1 on the all time hits list, what would your musical career look like in a perfect world?

For me, I would have been born with enough money that I wouldn't need a real job, and I'd spend most days performing preservation jazz and ragtime in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Maybe I should have specialized in an instrument that weighs less than a piano and needs less electricity than an electric keyboard.

Same thing about being born with enough money to not need a job and...

After many, many hours of practice, I would be First Violin for the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam.

Been there, but haven't done that. Though I did see several concerts there. They usually have free ones on Wednesday afternoons.

I wish to visit and see them live one day. Maybe when I retire I can start over with violin lessons and be able to play the air-violin at a concert from my seat in the audience. :)

    Obviously, rich, famous, etc. etc.

But seriously, I don't have much to complain about or want to change. I wish I was a better musician but I have good gear, have played with the same guys for 13+ years, we're on a record label, have recorded numerous albums, we're on the radio in our area sometimes.....we're fairly well-known around here. Plus, I love the guys I play with as if they are my own brothers. It's a very relaxed, down-to-earth group of people who enjoy a drama-free environment.

If I never advance any further in my musical career....I'll be happy with what I have right now. I was just practicing with those guys last night on an outdoor stage in the country and thinking about how damn lucky I am to be a part of that. :)

Never could play chords... Arthritis started before I picked up the guitar 30 years ago.

LOL, in my perfect world, I wouldn't have had a need to make music.

I like your avatar, Gong. "and the dish ran away with the spoon!" Where are we off to? (Please, preferably somewhere cool and breezy.)
