For a girl to like someone, they have to respect them.....

What about a guy does a girl/woman respect?

Here's my credentials: I have broken my neck and back and paralyzed a good part of the left half of my body.... but nobody seems to care about that...

They seem to care more about who plays the best guitar, and actually I used to play guitar when I was younger, but I'm just using it as an example...

I guess I'm just kind of frustrated... I'm not ALL about sex, but I am just frustrated because the girls my age seem to like a bunch of stupid shit like the best person who plays in a band.

Who can help me? How can I get a girl to respect me?

Look, I am trapped in a body that is always in pain. A really bad gunshot wound. I could care less about women respecting me. I also have an insane wife who needs me to simply get by. I do bird photography. I also read books and watch videos. Also I take part in this forum for now. It is so depressing I at times want to end it but hang in there to take care of my wife. The old slings and arrows of outrageous fortune have taken their toll on me.

it's a pretty simple formula: the less you respect them, the more they respect you.

I respect self awareness. Intelligence however humble. Down to earth and honest but in a very tactful manner.

They get they don't fully understand the world but maintain a passion to understand it.

Basically just take some mushrooms and you'll be good.

Well I guess I'm not going to have such a hot romantic life because I'm not doin' that. I don't care to be a dick to some woman becuse "that's what keeps her around." WTF??? That degrades both of us. I like someone to want to be with me because I:
    give a great massage
    love to eat pussy
have a warped sense of humor that can put a smile on the most resilient faces
keep cars running well at a minimum cost
keep the yard alive and trimmed
    earn money
do laundry, dishes, pest extermination, etc..
There are things I do well and a few very good people reap those rewards

It sounds corny, but it is what it is.

    1. No
    2. Yes

What I respect in people (not just men) above all else is kindness and compassion.

Work with what you got. So, you got some physical issues going on. That's a situation like any other. It sucks. But, it doesn't stop you from finding one female, if not more, that will respect you. Also, you have other things.

It would probably help if you have more respect for the women you chose to expose yourself to. If you think these women are all about being with the best band member, then they will become that to you. If you truly can't change your thoughts and feelings, that's fine too. But, then you have to find and expose yourself to other women that you respect.

You want girls to be interested in you because they pity you because of an injury? Just seeing if I'm following this...

What do you respect about yourself?

I find that when I have respect for a man, it's because I have seen and he has shown that he has respect for himself or for a specific skill set or personality trait he has. He has respect for this part of himself, he "shows it off" to a point and I become more aware of this part of him and have respect for him for respecting himself and knowing himself.

I find that a lot of guys say "I'm a nice guy" or whatever and if they prove that and if they prove that they really care about living up to their own standards...and I agree with those standards...that's a major level of respect in my book.

Some people tend to think physical illnesses or incapability makes them a better person; wiser, stronger, more passionate, etc. And in some cases, for some people it does make them a better person and it makes them appear as a better person to some others. So, it makes sense as to why the OP would use his disability as one of his credentials. It's not so unlikely. If people can use their looks, career, etc as credentials for being good people, for being good mates, then I don't see why people can't use this.

I respect no one who has no respect for themselves, won't care for themselves and can't show respect for others as well as themselves.
Women don't go for the best guy in a band,,, you just see it that way, your problem is you want sympathy and that like the best guy in a band only goes so far. Ya people care that you had an injury, not enough to yank your pants down and fuck you for it but they care, in a caring way, not where you expect them to pay you something for your injury.
Get past the "woe is me" and you will meet someone.
