Hey, so I'm new to this. My main question is how to become a modern hippy, and if I should even be considered a hippy. I take so much action into preserving the natural aspects of today's modern nature, I recycle and urge others to... And I devote much of my time to becoming intune with nature. I also believe in coexistence between the world and nature, and pure peace between all. If someone could please answer my questions I would really appreciate it. Peace
Well you're off to a good start! It's all about peace and love, and if you've got that down, that's the main thing that counts! It's about judging others on an individual basis and not making sweeping generalizations about their gender, race, religion, culture, etc.
Heylooo, not exactly an answer but is it okay to ask more questions here? relating to the first question? I'm super new. I just wanted to ask if maybe there was some easy way to experience what it was like to be the free thinkers that the 60's hippies were?
why would you want to be considered a hippy? seems like you would be better off being considered that guy that preserves the natural aspects of today's nature, recycles and urges others to, devotes time to becoming in tune with nature, and believes in coexistence between the world and nature and pure peace between all. sure, you could join any current counterculture clique. or you could be an actual free thinker and just, well, think for yourself.
It's a pretty wide range of ideas. Trying to emulate them all would make you into a walking History Channel documentary. Media impressions have to be studied carefully, some were politically driven. I'd say rule 1 is Don't be a tool. Don't steal from people. Wash your own dishes. Provide for the family or group. Be cool to people you meet. Don't push your faith onto people. Don't push your diet onto people. Don't support hate. Don't wear tie dye made in sweat shops Don't have unprotected sex Don't litter. Be nice to children Keep learning Keep teaching
This is my first time on the forum and there's a few issues I've had that if love to discuss. I am a minor but I've always been mature for my age. I have big ideas and I'm into activism and my beliefs contridict those of my parents and the adults around me. I am very passionate about certain things that they do not agree with. This means its hard for me to express those things. How do I stay true to my beliefs and be happy with everyone telling me it's wrong and inappropriate? For example, I believe the human body is beautiful and that we should not be ashamed of it. Some of the moments in my life that I am the most happy are when I'm half naked because I feel closer to the earth and it feels more natural. But as a minor, I've constantly got people telling me it's inappropriate and not proper. But Im not doing it to be sexual or disruptive. Its for spiritual reasons
Great post. I totally agree with you sharing about the human body. I have been a naturist for many years and I feel that closer connection that you speak about. I am glad you are expressing your feelings and its totally "appropriate," in my opinion.
With all due respect Eleanor please refrain from using the phrase "Mature for my age." Usually about the only time I hear that phrase it is justification for pedophilia. On either end it's either a14 year old banging a 30 year old going "I'm very mature for my age" or a 30 year old banging a 14 year old going "She's very mature for her age". C/S, Rev J
