A majority of Americans now favor legalizing marijuana, but still opposing legalization is a surprising and powerful enemy: Big Pharma.

    Is The DEA Legalizing THC?
    http://endingcannabisprohibition.yuku.com/topic/1680

So, in other words, if a pharmaceutical product contains THC extracted from the marijuana plant, that would be a legal commodity. But if you or I possessed THC extracted from the marijuana plant, that would remain an illegal commodity.

Wait, it gets even more absurd.

Since the cannabis plant itself will remain illegal under federal law, then from whom precisely could Big Pharma legally obtain their soon-to-be legal THC extracts? There’s only one answer: The federal government’s lone legally licensed marijuana cultivator, The University of Mississippi at Oxford, which already has the licensing agreements with the pharmaceutical industry in hand.

Some of your conjecture is total ignorance and bull.

    But generally, you're spot on.

Am important note that you missed is that THC being illegal to possess unless it's extracted by the right guys, would be exactly the same as other prescription drugs - you can't extract your own morphine, and be legal, but you can get a morphine prescription. The whole system is broken, and the way we think about drugs is broken.

THC is schedule III, but marijuana itself is schedule I

that's as stupid as making powder cocaine schedule I but crack is only schedule II

Some of your conjecture is total ignorance and bull. Except you can't describe why or even which, so that makes you ignorant, doesn't it? Yes it does. Now if you care to name your misconceptions I'll gladly address them. Otherwise keep the ad hominem off of my posts.

Well for one, the asinine idea that pharma would get their THC from university of mississippi.... totally different type of facility, and, the "canneceuticals" are already being produced in europe, it's done with much more serious growing operations and control than mississippi's schwag lot turns out.

So, that would be an example of conjecture based on the fact that only one place currently grows weed legally in the US, leading you to the laughable idea that big pharma will get their cannabis from the university of mississippi. Other areas could be licensed, loopholed, or, they could just import from their up-and-functioning facilities in europe. When they have a line about modern medicine and extracting weed and making it safe and controlled, they have an easy comeback and all the reason they need to grow it legally anywhere.

Mississippi is growing the IND patients pot. btw I didn't write that and I know Sativex is growing in Europe opening in 11 new countries. But the US is already growing and packaging and supplying test product so it is feasible. Your opinion is noted and without more than opinion, rejected.

Cannabis Yields and Dosage (Part 1)
    http://www.safeaccessnow.net/images/indcanisterbig.jpg

Anything anyone needs privately can be obtained by the Mississippi schwag farm. Patents are granted. Barthwell was heading up the distribution with Bayer and individual cannabinoids are also patented, such as marinol. Sounds like wishful thinking. Obama has the power to remove it as a controlled substance and hasn't. End of story.

No that is fact the only legal operation is Mississippi, the conjecture is you making up scenario's that they will continue to let the people grow.

Not my article but you are laughable in your gullibility thinking they will just give it to the people as with the incremental retardation of state laws with no weight. Fat Pharma gets the contract and may eventually grow their own but as of now the only place legal is Mississippi. Learn a little more about it before spreading your gossip here. Or bring something besides your opinion I find of no value.

Could maybe potentially, sounds more like drug worriers reefer madness future hobgoblins keeping the war profits flowing. Coulda woulda shoulda is not reality. Reality is Mississippi has the facilities and are contracting with Fat Pharma so all your hopes are based on Obama not enforcing the laws and when he is gone. Then back to the old reliable underground. You have too many dollar signs in your eyes. Fat Pharma doesn't want your partnership. Sorry again nothing more than conjecture and maybe they'll find Jesus and do the right thing like they have since 1937. Hey I have a bridge for sale, only driven over by two little old ladies going to church every sunday. Sell it cheap. Oh the Naive seem to be so content.

Could might possibly maybe but they already grow it here and distribute it here and package it roll it and patent it here. Oh Fat Pharma is just so generous and loves buying their raw materials from old stoners. Why didn't I see that sooner?

Are you that gullible to believe it is all kosher and the only reason it was outlawed is because Nixon was right that it was a menace, without medicinal benefits? Grow up. They never had a reason not to grow it legally everywhere outside of losing profits and now with max cap profit prisons they have more incentive to keep prohibition. The drug war is a product keeping unwanted competition off the market shelves and a trillion dollar prohibition business keeping private entrepreneurs out of business. Did you just find out about all this and plan to get rich on it? Sucker.

Oh glad you finally brought science and reality into it with cartoon rodents dancing around pagan symbols. Oh what was I thinking. Fat Pharma needs to see what they are up against, maybe they'll give up and let the people grow. Bring facts, not childish dreams...

Nothing new, Wall St runs DC, has since Prohibition removed farmers tractor fuel.

U.S. Government To Grow 30 Times More Marijuana

Posted by CN Staff on August 27, 2014 at 20:18:30 PT

    Source: Los Angeles Times

[IMG] Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. government has upped the quantity of marijuana it’s growing this year, to more than 1,400 pounds from the originally planned 46. The federal government classifies marijuana as a substance that has no medical use and is more dangerous than cocaine. But it’s willing to let researchers have access — under a few conditions.
One condition is that each project needs approval from the Drug Enforcement Administration. Another is that researchers get the substance from a particular source: the federal government.

The Incredible True Story of How Cannabis Is Coming to Rite-Aid
    http://www.takepart.com/feature/2014/03/05/coming-soon-to-pharmacies-marijuana
The first medicine developed straight from pot plants is poised for FDA approval. What would that mean for medical cannabis, legalization, and patients in need?

The cannabinoid system is incredible.... We have tremendous potential for medication development from cannabis.

Its clear that the DEA is in bed with big pharma. Just a hundred years ago you could grow a pot plant or buy cannabis tincture. You could get opium or grow it. If that were true today why would anyone take those toxic pills.

Same deal with the FDA trying to crack down on natural supplements. It takes a cut from their profit when someone uses even legal herbs to treat their condition.

At the end of the day we vote with our wallet I suppose but its good people like you are out there spreading information to the uninformed.
