Checking out 'Mystic blue'... Dig that minor blues feel on 'it snowed today' Is that the fruity loops drums on 'The Slink'? Sounds like you have achieved a certain continuity of production between all the tracks ...is that something you were consciously going for or does it just follow your general production values/style? Wiz, just paste the URL for the youtube vid directly in the reply box.
I've posted this before, sometime back... You don't get to see it clearly for but only a moment or two, during my 'oh shit' moment lol, but the instrument is a Yamaha 2335 Bb Trumpet I picked up off craigslist for 25$. I never intended to make the vid for public viewing, but after an unexpected fan showed up during the shooting, I just had to upload it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FZAfwyk_HQ"]Street musician Bear encounters - YouTube
Everything is just done by feel... Time spread on those doesn't even have me using the same gear or software from song to song. The drums on "The Slink" (and Bluefire, Wah'cha Got) are royalty free snippets that are pieced together. Not even looped. Contrary to the "normal" methods everybody else uses the drums were added last... No metronome was used in the recording of those. (I'm sure that would become evident now that it has been said, there's a lot of mistakes there) Those 3 songs were the distortion pedal into the old laptop I mentioned in the home studio thread. "It Snowed Today" is a great song... Well, the drummer was falling down drunk so I did what I could with 3 takes after the fact. The original guitar and bass tracks were recorded to a drum machine which got cut after I got the "live" drum tracks. There was a short lived attempt to turn Mystical Blue into a real band... I've written a lot of material for MB, that never got recorded.
For some reason, I'm not finding Mystic Blue. But here is a nice, mellow song from our last disk. I can post a link to the whole cd if anyone is interested in hearing it. Lot's of different stuff on it. But this song is about just relaxing on the water. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3bBhMaBy1k
Okay... just thought maybe you were searching for the shortened name. I don't know what comes up for that... It's also in my top friends list on Chrome Crow if it will let you click through. Aquajaunt has a very dreamy quality... Nice!
have a blue fender bass/w amp, that i never learned to play, i,m saving it for ma kids though, mabye one of them will play it. Also have a bigger peavey minx 110 10in amp for it, was enough to rattle the windows in the house, lol.
Looks nice.... but lonely. Just pick it up and mess around with it again. Nobody said formal learning was a necessity. Have fun with it.
Actually the one that gets most used in this picture is my Modulus Bassstar 5 string. But now I have added a couple and I now use a Modulus Quantum SS 5 string Turbo as my main bass. The Teisco is actually a Aria-A200 the first bass I ever owned!! Love that little bass.
Here is some pics of some of my guitars! All of them are partscasters I put together myself with bodies, necks and parts I bought mostly on Ebay. After years of modding guitars I figured I might as well just put them together the way I want instead. I have other guitars laying around the house, but these ones are all I play with my band.
