We just turned Summer over the weekend and it is hot and steamy here. Lots of rain and severe storms. Lots of humidity. The flowers I planted for Mom at the cemetery are not doing that well. I think they are getting too much water.

And it's about 23c outside here. Nice summer day. We'll get some rain later most likely as well..

hazy as hazy is out there..
There are 150 or so species of cicada in the U.S. (including species of Okanagana, Diceroprocta, Cicadetta, Neocicada, Cacama, Okanagodes, Magicicada and other genera). Only the seven Magicicada species have synchronized development and periodical emergences (meaning that all individuals in a population are always the same age). The rest of the species (the so-called annual cicadas) have unsynchronized development, so some individuals mature in every year and we hear them every summer..

cicadas are not considered pests.. maybe to some, as they can harm the trees that the squirrels feed on.

the caterpillars completely decimate the trees here ...we had a real bad year about 4 years ago that killed lots of trees
