Sounds strange but that was my favorite year. I don't know why with the rave scene getting out of hand, Jerry constantly nodding off and missing words, not to mention he looked like he was dead already. I had a great time though. Was at Deer Creek when the fence was crashed. I was on spring tour in Memphis, the gate at the Pyramid was crashed I was in St. Louis when the balcony at Pine Woods collapsed and was in Chicago when 200000 people showed up and cripples the city for 3 days. Never the less, I enjoyed every show I was at with the exception of the Deer Creek show. It was a good 2 sets, but the vibes were bad do to the light being left on because of a death threat on Jerry, and the thugs trashing the venue. I stopped touring with Phish after 2000 because of the same shit. I watched a guy get jumped in Columbus, OH for his shoes.:biker:
Anyway, can anyone else relate to me?

I only saw the Pittsburgh show in 95 but I had a great time and it was a great show.
perfect for me, just how I want to remember Jerry he and the band all together firing on all cylinders all night. the last really perfect show they ever gave.

He looked and sounded like he would live to be 1000 that night

Phish around that time had a real shady crowd following them around. The band was dealing with some serious addictions and that seemed to run off on the crowd. I have some older friends who describe all sorts of opiates on lot then. It is a little better now. You can still find that stuff but you have to poke around a little more.

I like 95 Dead even though many consider it to be a train wreck. Some people could sense the end was near. Jerry is really out of it some nights but he can still nail it when he is sober enough.

I find that very odd that you love 95 dead. But since you saw them then that's why you probably like that year. It's basically their worst year and most deadheads stopped going to shows in 93 or even 94 as the scene had long become too large, infested with wooks, and tons of shady people.

I used to love going to dead and phish shows but I went there for the music and not the drugs, and in the early 00s I got tired of all the headier than thou shady wooks and idiots on MDMA, opiates, and benzos or any drugs they could get their hands on and take.
