Why why why does my rock channel insist on playing this hillbilly banjo plucking bluegrass fucking crap!? This is not rock, get the fuck off the rock stations.
One finds when the Music played, is not the Music liked, One re-tunes - even to the extent of going further afield- I found this to be one of the benefits of WW Internet opportunities
we have a local theatre that has been supposedly to reopen after 20yrs closure... it has a sign in the window the mumford and sons header on the building.. it irks me to walk by there.
they have metal stations over there? lucky... in america we have classic rock, country, NPR, country, oldies, country, sports talk, country, top 40, country... and if you live in the city you might also have alternative/new rock or political talk. and of course, country.

I can relate, although for slightly different reasons it seems. I don't care if they are rock or not, or country or folk or a pop version of it, they just are in my face (ears) everywhere and I don't dig their sound. Everybody else likes them though, I've been downloading their albums for my mom and because I'm into folk, folk rock and some country (and rock) she doesn't understand why I dislike them so much If you dig these genres you're ought to love Mumfords it seems... but unfortunately it isn't like that for me. It's the same with bands like Floggin molly and Dropkick murphies. Yes they have a solid sound, yeah they are great bands at parties. They make a good mix of folk and rock/punk and have far from rubbish themes and lyrics. But do I enjoy listening to them? NO.
I think I can tolerate a pretty wide range of music. I can listen to anything from ABBA to ZZTop, Ministry to Madona, but as soon as I hear M&S... RUN, AGHHH! Run to the stereo to turn that bloody shit off. Such an obnoxiously annoying 1 second banjo loop of "bump bum be diddly, bump bum be diddly, bump bum be diddly..." and the vocals reminiscent of a hunter mourning the loss of his bloodhound dog, "I shot my dahwg, I dragged him home. I felt so lonelieeeee in my truck".
Me too. It often is not a whole genre but just some bands in particular. One band I really can't stand is U2. And it's really the sound and the songs, not Bono or something.
Yeah, that's why I specified It seems like that for a lot of people. Or it's just Bono. For me it's the music.
Their new album is like 4/4 overblown indie rock from what I heard.I never liked them.Real bluegrass is fine with me,but they always sounded like fakers.
They do truly suck. They are so fucking EARNEST and SINCERE. They have now ditched the banjo and have reinvented themselves as an AOR stadium rock band along the lines of Snow Patrol. Dont know which is worse. Anyway I have no idea why they are so huge, but the same could be said for many "artists"
