My old lady, is spouting this same subject... And does on a semi-daily basis.

She is almost 40 and I am 26, so I understand where she is coming from, my generation and the younger ones associated with ours are for the most part just general miscreants.

My woman, on the other hand is the most compassionate, kind, loving woman I have ever met; hence why I have seduced the older woman.

honest - entirely, I am more likely to trust someone like me than many other philosophies which I really don't trust

ethical - certainly

virtuous - depends on your definition (if it is submitting to some patriarchal religious standard probably not, but I don't think sex is actually evil or unvirtuous) caring for people and reaching out lovingly works for me

and I identify this way

 

i don't see why not, none of those traits contradict each other or anything.

 

you can be all those things no matter who you are.

 

Old hippies tend to be idealists and idealists tend to be honest, ethical, and trying to make the world a better place.

There are plenty of Honest, virtuous and ethical Hippies around. You need to be the change you wish to see.

 

There are three of the 'old school' around here that everybody thinks are just so fantastic but are pretty feckn' racist. Took me years to see it myself, they're good at sneaking it in and if you're not in certain threads, you'll never see it. I thought it was a joke at first but nope.

These ethical hippie idols are full of hate.

 

What is "ethical" and "virtuous" mean.Thinking nice thoughts? Or actually doing something useful.I suggest I'm a lazy bum.Not that that's what I want,there is just so little opportunity to get involved in anything positive.I would like to be working with my hands,and have done in the past,but that is the past,and my life didn't go that way.Everyone is born into circumstances.

 

Hippies typically see themselves as honest, ethical and virtuous while some others see them as dishonest, unethical and immoral. Avoiding the draft? Dishonest! Smoking pot? Unethical! Free love? Immoral!

It takes all kinds.

Anyway, peeps call me hippie so I must be honest and ethical I suppose. I try to be anyway but I think they call me that more because I am laid back, dress and be like I want to, not how everyone else is, hate the government (even tho I work for and get paid by them, hahahaha) and I have a low GAF factor, about most things except where peeps are in need. I guess maybe it's because I don't brush and style my hair like most women do,,, who knows,,, BF agreed I am kinda hippie and homeless looking most times but not in a shabby way. It's what attracted him to me and he says he wants me to stay the same forever and torment him the rest of his life with my funky ways.
Even my worker guy used to call me a hippie and the lady I had working for me next said I looked homeless but in a good way. I don't like bells and bobbles but I like threads and tassels and long messy hair.
