Odilon Redon for his colour and loose sense of abandon:

I have always felt connected with Vincent Van Gogh somehow, but my art is going in more abstract directions like this piece which is not mine.....

    I respect H.R. Giger's passion and William Blake's dedication.

For me it's Pablo picasso. Though I couldn't possibly tell you why. I feel he knew beauty in its truest form

Who cares if someone is popular or not? Did you know that Van Gogh only sold one painting while he was alive....?...and that was through his brother. who sold art...and someone bought a painting of his as a favor to his brother., only?

Like what you like...be what you are...who cares if it is widely accepted or not...have belief in your own self and what you like.

It would have been nice if you had put an example of his art here, though...as now, i will have to look him up myself.

I think Peter Doig, who is currently the most expensive living artist,is massively overrated.Shows that there is no sense in the art world.

Leonora Carrington. An often over-looked British surrealist, and one of my favourites among modern Brit painters. Can't say exactly what I like about her work - something slightly un-settling about it, but interesting, compelling even. I also like the way in which she uses colour, the tones she chooses.

I don't know if I have a favorite artist but I generally like Psychedelic Art and Surrealism. I recently discovered this guy Shawn Thornton, who apparently has Pineal Gland Cancer and thinks it influences his artwork.

Another favourite - Pablo Amaringo, a Peruvian artist whose art was inspired by visionary states under the Amazonian entheogenic brew Ayahuasca.
