So does anyone remember this game? I used play it for hours and get really frustrated with some of the levels but I loved it and if you get the bad ending it's pretty depressing.
Hahaa! Yes! It was 2d (platform) and about an alien who could posess minds. It was one of my earliest pc games I think. Later on when I got the first xbox I got a demo of a 3d Abe's Oddysee game but I don't recall the name or remembering I was eager to get the full version. I also got a game on xbox (which was suprisingly good!! for a game that no one seems to recall anymore) called Oddworld: Stranger's wrath which was from the same makers I think (abe oddysee games also start with Oddworld: in front of their titles), but set in a different world with different creatures.
QUALITY game! Me and my sister used to play it lots! I even wrote a short story about it when I was an early teen ^_^
Didn't have a Ps1 of good PC as a kid but this game always looked cool. I was stuck with a shitty N64 that never had any good games coming out.
!!!! "Shitty N64"? But... what about Perfect Dark, GoldenEye, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64 and so on ^_^ I mean, fair enough it wasn't as good as the Sega Dreamcast... but hey what is!
i never owned an N64, but i've seriously considered buying one just for super mario 64. that said, i've never played another game on it that i particularly cared for (star fox was alright, but nothing i would be likely to replay after i beat it the first time i played it). i remember playing abe's oddysee when it was the sample game at toys r us. i couldn't get into it at all, but that's probably just because i was stuck playing level 1 with no clue what the fuck i was doing.
I don't remember how big this original Abe game was, but wouldn't the 2d platform game be good to go on almost any pc? Hey, now we're talking about 2d platform games... anybody recall Earthworm Jim?

I bought Munch's Oddysee on PSN not too long ago. Pretty fun to get into, gotta love those retro graphics

I always wanted to play it, but couldn't afford it when it came out. That came out when PS1 or PS2 was ending it's... life-cycle? I think?
I got it for the first xbox, so it was released during the heyday of the ps2 I think. Although of all the oddworld games this one is closest to a typical action shooter (very weird weapons though, you shoot bugs that you have to catch yourself) it had a very fun setting and story.
