"I am". Or "now", or "one" over and over again till my mind shuts up.

    Mantra from my own song..

"When there is peace in your heart,
there is peace in your surroundings.
And when you feel it in your heart,
    you know you are surrounded.
So give freely of your heart,
    and know you are surrounded,
    by those beautiful angels
who keep you safe from harm."

    and intuitive 'light language' mantra:

"Aya aya Mitru (I Am Presence)"

I just keep the volume down and do my routine work, with this chant running in background.
I can feel the positive vibrations.

    A big one for me,
"I'm ok, all is well. I'm ok, I am well." When things are bad.

    A daily one,
"In with cool, healing wind, out with hot, red, negativity."

Maybe a bit derivative, but they help me.

i was at a bus stop and saw a guy who was dancing, tripping, probably on lsd or the like. somehow i got it into my mind to sing "ong namo guru dev namo" at him to calm him down. he snaps out of his trance and ended up to be a psychic and told me all these crazy true things about me.

I don't really do the mantra thing but maybe it's because I hadn't found a good one until a few days ago.

I don't normally watch tv but a friend gave me a usb stick with the tv show Spartacus on it. I'm not into gore so I looked away/slept through a lot of it, but at one point, they started singing a drinking song and it killed me. For the last few days, whenever I've been doing something difficult and needed to get in the zone/find strength, this song has popped into my head. I have no idea why but it's still funny.

    The song goes:
Blood rains down from an angry sky.
    My cock rages on.
    My cock rages on.

    :2thumbsup:

    i love mantra lore
i will have to admit - i started meditating with TM - which if you care the mantras are on the archived trancenet - that said, i found my mantra was yoni bija - which meant it has varnashrama of kama (since I learned at 14) and having bijadevata as yonidevi I feel especially fortunate.

I can't recommend it for people as TM chooses mantras by age (varnashrama). But since I am older now - middle aged I do Mahalakshmi based chanting after TM so something 'shrim' based - in my case mahashodashi - sri vidya mantra.

having forsaken my boyhood guru and not made vows of secrecy i am free to expound endlessly upon mantra

I have a "prayer" type ritual claiming my sacred space and it is done with deep breaths.

Then I finish "with every breath I take in His presence I abide"
