It's about a hundred damn degrees here. I cooked nothing. Not even toast. I had fruit and a shrimp salad sandwich today.
Fresh green leaf salad with goat cheese medallion encrusted with chopped peasants YUMMY yes it's too hot to cook Sent from my ST26a using Tapatalk 2
Cooked those hardshell blue crabs earlier. I wish I had more ...they were so yumm It's still too damn hot to cook much (tomrw is the cool down!!)... but I'm thinking of making either steak or chicken in a few mins... can't decide which...and I have one zucchini squash left..think I'll just chop that up and sauté it with some butter and oregano.
It's funny when northerners say it's too hot to cook/eat.. wtf? So you starve yourself? Actually though, it's hotter up there than it is here. I have a coastal breeze and it's been in the 80s for two weeks at least.
Damn near 100 degrees here lately and HUMID as fucking shit. I mean I cooked those crabs earlier but not gonna be havin over n stove on for hours... and it's too hot to eat HOT food... sandwiches and stuff are good on days like today
I made a taco pie. Layered with turkey meat, tortillas, and cheese. On the top I chopped some lettuce and tomatoes with a dollop of sour cream.
ah biled me up a green (bell) pepper and some onions and a chopped up sausage in a broth of bullion and lemon yest'day. dam green pepper cost a dollar EACH around here. that's insane, or maybe its the season, i don't know. speaking of seasons, i wish the pine nuts would come back in. they're actually cheap, well semi-cheap, around here, being as how we're closer to where they grow then where green peppers do. also avacadoes cost about half of what they did in northern cali, so i guess it evens out. i usually don't do a lot of complicated cooking because i live in a house with a bunch of other people and i like to stay out of their way. (not that they mind, its just how i am) i also like to set the example of not leaving a mess for them to clean up. not that i entirely expect everyone else to get the hint. so i do most of my cooking in the micro-wave or in one pot of boiling bullion and lemon. i do braize and broil meat on the stove sometimes. i almost never fry because i just don't even like fried. what i bake i micro, though there is a perfectly good oven in the stove. i would do a lot more cooking if i lived by myself, and did when i did, and that too is just the way i am. we don't usually eat meals together, but then, we don't usually keep the same schedules either so it probably wouldn't be entirely practical to try doing so. we each buy our own food and label it. not keep others from eating it, but so i'll know i'm not eating someone else's. unless its left overs from a party, then its open season on that for whoever wants it.
