I'll make another post in this thread later on to explain how I go about learning language - I'm too scatterbrained to do it right now.

Duolingo is probably the best free resource out there to learn most languages. Including French. It's available online or on mobile Babbel costs money, and is likely the second best resource I know of You can even compare your progress to Facebook friends, or friends you make on the website.
