A woman has every right and is free to do what she wants with her body, that's her choice. No one should hate on a woman because she is empowered, takes control of her body, uses her skills to her advantage, is promiscuous or polyamorous or whatever. More power to her!

    Just like a man:

It entirely depends exactly how she does these things. It could have no bearing on her character, or it could make her scum.

There's a major difference between the concept of a woman being free and able to explore her sexuality, and a woman using her sexuality to manipulate men and be dishonest and generally ruinous. These two things are always conflated in these threads.

Presumably nobody is against women being sexually mature and free. But nobody likes an attention whore; nobody likes a woman who cheats; nobody likes a woman who is emotionally callous in the name of "being a proud slut". All these same rules apply to guys.

This is the difference between the politics of sex, and simple rules about human interaction, human decency, etc. Unfortunately many women do not see the difference and think that in order to be sexually free, they must subdue, manipulate and trample men as conquests. This has classically been the male's role, and even as the male role it was seen as offensive and disreputable; so it is particularly offensive to many people, especially other women, to see women acting this way.

Thankfully the solution to avoid such people is very simple; don't go to places where such women would flock to (bars, clubs) and expect to meet someone who does not fall in this role to a T. If you realize the woman you are chatting up is this way, move on. on. Don't waste your time. Her friends are likely the same, just move on from the whole circle. The issue here is that guys allow these women to be sexually successful because guys don't understand how to say no to sex, how to say no to female attention, flirtation. It's a vicious cycle and there's no clear fault or blame, people just need to grow up and not allow unwanted behaviors in their lives. Work on your "jersey shore radar" and don't give trash the time of day, it's really not hard :) desperation will make a man drink filthy water though.

Well, somebody has to be in charge of pussy. Might as well be women. Give men domain over it and women wouldn't have time to do anything but screw and be called sluts numerous times daily. Some men have so much trouble with women acting human.

You argument that heroin is not a valid analogy is invalid, as well as including love in a discussion about a feminist cry to be a slut and proud of it. To actualy be a slut, one must be apathetic to who the sex comes from or how safe it is so long as there is pleasure, hence it being a negative term regardless of gender. the question is not so much "why embrace sexuality?" as much as "Why be careless with your health for the sake of proving your independence?"

AIDS, HIV, and HPV can still kill and both a needle user and an indiscriminately sexually active person are at risk. Heroin can lead to overdose, tubal pregnancy and miscarriage as well as birthing can also kill. A woman may be at greater risk of death from sex because out bodies work differently. Additionally the gluttony comment was fair since that can also lead to death.

It is one thing to want dick and feel no shame in that. It is another to brag that you will take any dick any way you can get it. Why must one ignore safety and dignity to be feminist? Is it simple to prove that we women can be just as ignorant as the thug playa from the broken home who leaves a trail of welfare children in his wake in equally broken homes? That seems more like social regression to me than social reform.

I don't say women should shy away from having fun, however if we start a gender based competition for who can whore it up better, everyone loses.
