What are some weird food combinations that work well together or that you ate as a kid. I am not talking about a Burger and fries or Peanut butter and jelly. I'll give a few that I have found and enjoyed. Oreo cookies and bananas Coke and peanut m&m's no bake cookies and beer
As a kid I would eat a bowl of peas with cheese mixed in so it was melted.. also the same with baked beans... I couldnt do that now though, think I overdone it lol, i would eat it as a meal..
When we were kids we used to make a peanut butter sandwich with a fried egg. I even tried it as an adult and it was not half bad. The fried egg melts the peanut butter and it is messy to eat but surprisingly good.
I make macaroni 'peas' now.. instead of cheese sauce, i make one from peas and other stuff... lol i love peas
When i was younger my grandparents used to give me saltine crackers with mayonaise as a snack. I think i enjoyed anything salty with mayonaise. Tator tots and french fries mmmm. Soon after i was old enough to legally buy alcohol i stumbled upon the flaming hot cheeto and cream cheese combination. It balances itself well and after like 100 beers it tastes damn good.
Cheese and mayo sandwiches.I never thought cheese and mayo would go together but I tried it recently and it's pretty good.
when i was not vegan i would eat cocktail sausages dunked in cream cheese, it was my 'drunk' and 'comfort' food
and whilst pregnant i ate mints (usually spearmint flavour) with cheese......but that just kind of crosses the line of weird food, being pregnant does that to you....
Gosh. I must be really strange. There are a couple things mentioned in this thread that I eat (or did eat) that I never thought of as weird.
chocolate covered bacon is amazing! I always thought peanut butter and celery was weird but it works A lot of the stir fry's I make use weird ingredients.. I make a soup that has butternut squash, pickled mangoes, apple sauce and coconut milk and it's quite good.
