Humans, as messed up as they are, are in that goldilocks range in a whole bunch of areas that all came together and meant we could develop more efficient brains over a couple hundred thousand years.

If humans were too violent we wouldnt have gotten past a certain stage of evolution like our chimp cousins

Same could be said if humans were too peaceful, we'd still be where the bonobos are

personally i have no problem with where the bonobos are, only with computers and narrow gauge trains and looking more like leamurs.

and if we ever meet people from other worlds, who have avoided destroying themselves, i seriously believe, that i how they will have avoided doing so.
