Mine was feral as a kitten but the local pound picked her up. I figured she would be domesticated being how young she was when brought indoors and how little time she spent outside. It became a fight to keep her from running outside when I opened the door. After enough times getting out I gave up. Now if she goes to the door I let her out and if she cries at the door I let her in. Aka when it rains...when it's cold...when she is hungry I let her in.
Well the stray cat in the yard sticks around no matter what. Guess Mr. Stripey likes it here. I gave him a box with a blanket to sleep in, in a covered spot on the porch. He curls up there all night and disappears during the day. Someone is feeding him, he has gotten fat! And it's not just winter coat! i thought he might be bloated with worms, so I did feed him on Christmas Day and gave him worm meds... I will repeat it again on New Year's Day to make sure the stuff works. Happy New Year to all cat lovers and Cats everywhere!
Oh you are one of them... One time I was wearing my sleater-Kinney t-shirt the logo on it was a cat. A woman asked if I was a cat person. I said yeah. She asked how many I had. I replied one. She said. Ohhh you are not really a cat person.
That's what I thought. According to her I need more than I can handle. That cat had permanent allergies. My level of disgust was way past exceptable levels with this pussy sneezing all the time. Half the time in my face. She knew I didn't like it so she would run away...after sneezing in my face.
One day about 11 years ago this Puss, that's her name, showed up at our back door at our farm. She was terribly hungry and pretty thin. We fed her and that was that. She has been here ever since. She is a bit shy but once she trusts you she will rub against you and eventually roll over to have her tummy petted. She is an outdoor cat until the snow comes and is too deep for her to get her food. So we let her in and she jumps up on the coach and purrs herself to sleep. One night she was hungry and we had a live trap set for catching raccoons set. unfortunately she took the bait and got trapped until the morning when we could let her out.
A stray cat. On Christmas Day, I was visited by a lost cat.I found the owner on Tuesday bit on the way home she jumped out the window and found her way back to my place. The next day when she was to be picked up I was holding her and as soon as she the car , she started kicking. Maybe I treated her too well. She certainly liked the neck massages I gave her. The eyes would close in a moment of bliss. I miss her in a way. I found it strange that she had so much trust in me.
I'm back at trying to trap the big, yellow, feral tom that has fathered probably every cat on this property. He has been around for years. Poor old guy only has one ear left and his eyes look awful. I saw him this morning and put the trap in the garage with a little food in it. He was coming straight to it when the youngest cat met him at the door of the trap. The little bitty cat when in first and it slammed shut. I let it go but the old guy was too wise to go near after he saw what happened. Maybe one day...
we can't have a cat or dog because of the vet cost but my 12 yr old son has names all the strays & feeds then tuna fish when we have it. i think i will suprize him 4 his birthday & start feeding them so he can play w/ the friendly ones
The article says Disney does put out feeding stations and does TNR on the colony. http://www.catsandkittensbreeds.com/secret-cats-reside-disneyland-park/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpe&utm_campaign=Post+Engagement+-+The+Secret+Cats+At+Disneyland+Park&utm_term=Lookalike+%28US%2C+2%25%29+-+Cats+Main+Custom+Audience+-+W+-+45%2B
I just made appointments for two of the outdoor females to be spayed in Feburary! Yay! It's on a senior citizen program so each cat will be spayed for $20 plus $10 for rabies shot. The program also has some March dates. I may get one or two more fixed then. This makes me so happy!!!
