I learned to jam primarily with em pentatonic so it will always have a special place in my heart.

I like E cause you can play easily with open strings and G for scales and solos.

I've been learning Phrygian in E and I love how Camelot it sounds.

Lydian, Dorian and Aeolian are just modes of the Major scale! Same notes just starting on a different root note. So say you are playing in the G Major scale, but start it on the second note of the scale which is A you will be playing mode 2 of the scale which is Dorian. So all the same notes that are in G major are also in the A Dorian mode.

If you want to go for a more exotic sound I would suggest looking into the Harmonic Minor scale, Hungarian Major scale or Eight Tone Spanish scale.

I really got into that scale due to Yngwie Malmsteen's influence on me.
Before that Randy Rhoads got me into half -Whole tone scales, Whole-half tone scales, Diminished 7th scales and Augmented Scales .

The half- Whole scale mixes great with the Blues Pentatonic scale
    A Blues Pentatonic scale
    A, C, C#, D, E, G, A
    half- Whole tone scale
    A, Bb, C, C#, D#, E, F#, G, A
Some folks like to ommit the 2nd degree (Bb) from the half-Whole tone scale, I like to add it every once in a while to add tension.
