Ive wanted to see this movie for a long time and it was finally on last night its a documentary all about Jim Morrison and The Doors it includes all the famous doors moments: including the time they sang "light my fire" on the ed sullivan show and they told him to change the lyrics and he sang the real lyrics anyway both times he was arrested on stage and of course his tragic death great movie, and totally awesome
Amazing film about an amazing man who had an amazing life. Rock stars of today are not worthy to suck a fart out of his ass. They can only imitate. Jim, if you have any way of reading this, a lot of people miss you!
I love it as a movie & since it's about Jim, but since I've read a lot about him, I've found it's not too acurate. But a good movie just the same, & it's nice to have another Doors fan here. Long live the Lizard King!
i watched that movie a few times, which got me quite impressed about it.It's an amazing movie! Nevertheless, i read ray manzarek's book "Light my fire" which was very critic about Oliver Stone's movie. He didn't like at all, how Stone did represented Jim's film from the college time. When Ray is telling about facts and stories, quite often he interrupt them just for reviewing what Stone reported in the movie. He aslo cites many dvd and vhs about the Doors which should be avaiable on the market. Can you suggest which are the best of the??? Doors forever!!!
The movie got me into the doors but the movie is incredibly innacurate and left a lot out. They made it look like jim wrote light my fire. It could have been done a lot better. I know that none of the doors remaining members like it either, they helped work on it at first then quit later because they were fucking it up so much. Its a good way to get people into the entire culture of the 60's though
I agree with 'FoxeyLady' Val Kilmer makes an excellent Jim Morrison. And did you know some of the songs on the film were re-recorded with Val Kilmer's voice over the top.
Yay! so glad to see all the doors fans. incase u didnt know, i happen to be one myself I never saw this movie, but I watched Riders On the Storm which is supposed to be more accurate.
I thought that Kilmer did all the singing in it. I heard Stone wasnt going to let him but Kilmer tricked him by bring in his version and Stone couldnt tell the difference. THat is hearsay though so i am not totally sure if it is true. Peace&Love
Mmmm... Val Kilmer, very cute in The Doors... His best was Willow, though... I saw this movie several times. Good flick... I like it when they are having the dinner party and she starts freaking out about the duck... You killed my duck!!!
