eace: Have you spent any time reading The Church of the Good Earth forum? Have you ever wanted to ask about anything that those people who are in the Church of the Good Earth forum have talked about? Curious? Want to know about the commune? Do you have any other types of questions you’d like to ask them about back then? Any questions about San Francisco? Any questions about the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood? The commune it’s self? Communes and commune life in general? Any questions about Sex, Drugs, and Rock ‘n’ Roll? Any questions that might help you to go forward into your own future? :gossip: This is the forum space designed for exactly this purpose. eace:
Hi! No questions - just popped in to say hi and I hope peeps take you up on your offer to enlighten them about a time that will never ever be repeated.
etherea, Hi and thanks. Thanks for popping in. And do keep coming back. OK? This thread might just get some interesting stuff going on.
I can't comment on the goings on in haight ashbury or in the states in general but if there is anyone out there who did the free festival and squat (commune) scene in Britain 1970 -73 give me the heads up!
Ugh! I tried to post a question but my browser decided to poop itself. Sorry if I'm double posting. But I'm curious what exactly the Church of the Good Earth is? What's the goal?
The Good Earth Commune was established cira 1970 in the Haight/Ashbury District, in San Francisco California, We became a 'Church' shortly after. Our goal was to live a life less complicated and less encumbered by Corporate greed. We were against government rule and the destruction of our planet. We were freedom Fighters. We had an underground network of houses where travelers could rest for a few daze. We fed hundreds as they passed through our doors. We had Headshops and Daycare, we had a moving crews and plumbers. We had The Food Conspiracy and the Switchboard. We had a painting crew and a garage. We came to change the minds of men and open the hearts of our nation. I'm sure there will be more discussion on this. peace and love sh aka nailcakes
One of the strong motivations for us in those days was an anti Vietnam war belief and we also acted in support of native rights actions....need coffee :coffee:
I'm over here reading when I see new posts, but it's not my place to post... Glad you guys are reaching out to each other and finding old friends.
These goals are the exact things I've been trying to accomplish myself. I'm glad someone had success!
hi kenney, thank you for this space. i have been a good earther from day one but every day that i wake up i start all over again being a good earther. i am drawn to where the love is. i always find it with my brothers and sisters of the church of the good earth. now how easy is that?
Ty, I am offended that you think that it's not your place to post here, on the contrary, it is exactly a place you should post. You have a lot of Soul and Wisdom. It does not matter if you've been to The Haight or not, it's not about seperation but congregation. I am He and He is Me and we are all together. Bright Blessings Ty Love, Love, Love sh
Is this place still vibrant and alive in the city? I'm looking to move back to my hometown and I figure communal living is just the answer for someone of lower income and higher spirits. I'm also new to communal living in general but appreciate the like-mindedness, kindheartedness and the warmth of friends who grow like family! What's the process like for establishing a living space? I may be a young, green body but I'm an old, wise soul! Blessings and gratitude to all! Katelyn
Hi I recently found out that Cyril Isaacs was my biological father. I think her was a founding member of the good earth. Anyone out there who can tell me a little about him?
