The strangest part about this story is that you think you are split in half.

    Interesting.

I get an overwhelming sense that I'm in the matrix when I go into stores like Wal-Mart.

I can't even begin to explain why and it may sound like I'm joking but I'm serious.

I also, for some reason, get that feeling occassionally when I'm outside too. I'll see a flower and upon reflecting upon the beauty of a flower I'll get this sense that I was never meant to be a part of the same world as this flower, that I was plugged into this world of natural beauty and I'm just an interloper.

I've never experienced anything like what you described, yet I know perfectly what you mean.

I've had this kind of thing described in skinnyjean's post.

It was almost time for my oldest granddaughter to get home on the bus and I was in her baby sisters' room changing a diaper.

I saw, who I thought was my oldest granddaughter, stick her head in the room where I was, smile at me, and then go into the bathroom.

A few minutes later I was back in the living room and I watched her come down the drive and into the house from the school bus.

    It was pretty unnerving.

The Matrix movies are very very intelligent and among my favorite. I'd say you are not whacko. There's a bunch of stuff I know and am learning with metaphysics, spirituality, and things like that, but don't know well enough to type in an organized manner.

With Deja Vu, it turns out from my own little research that dreaming the future is something common for most people and don't remember these precognitive dreams. The precognitive dreams can either be a real play-out of the future or like in most cases in a typical fictionalized dream layout.... the Deja Vu feeling is when you are "living the dream" and your conscious mind cannot make sense of the residue from being in an earlier precognitive dream. Also, there are clairvoyants who can dream the future and remember them, and it can become overwhelming for them.

An interesting thing with the matrix is it's theme of what's real and not real. In the first movie, Scyther hated the "real" world and preferred the matrix... and Agent Smith (when he took out his earpiece) said he hated the matrix and preferred the "real" world. This may sound loopy and hard to word, but in general I believe there is no "real" reality... its how YOU view it that determines it and is always subject for change of view. Hard for me to accurately explain in short and again other stuff I'm not remembering for this context.

I get weird things like you do but in a different sense. One weird that happened with me a couple days ago is I was talking to someone I haven't seen in a week. In short, I had said NOTHING to anybody about how I don't have school Wednesday and she was like "You said you don't have school today right?" and continued in a way like we had a conversation that never happened. I found it strange and said nothing of it 'cause things had worked for the better with her already knowing that. It feels like I am becoming more in correlation with the uinverse or something.

You might be interested in books by Stuart Wilde. I am reading the book Sixth Sense and talks above ESP and being psychic. I'm halfway through it and absolutely love it.

Mainly through my own experiences, there is A LOT we do not know about the non-linear world we live in.

Very cool man, I have split from myself many times, not every time consciously aware. It happens whenever you have some sort of unique thought which creats a new reality and you and your thought go there and split from you. Deja vu sometimes is other realities doing the same thing or im not sure these are just my ideas . Nowtobeawareofourself in all infinite realities?

I've got my fair share of precognitive dreams, as psyykonaut77 nicely put.
Been having them for as long as I remember. Never considered myself crazy, or though of it as abnormal. It came to me as quite a shock when I realized that what was quite the usual for me, was absolutely insane and "psychic" to other people.

I still have a lot to see, to learn; I must admit. I am young.

The idea of the matrix and slits in time are a good explanation to a lot of things.

But I don't think I want to ponder on it such, as to letting it take control of my perception or chain me down through it's immense complexity.

Life is a playground. Go play!
I think some people, get so caught up in things; let it be their financial debts or their reality doubts - that they ultimately forget this.

We get what, 80... 90 years on this planet?
In our dimension, at least, they're linear. Meaning you're the oldest you've ever been and the youngest you'll ever be... Right Now.

And sure, there are going to be plenty of mind fucks along the way.
Maybe, some things simply shouldn't be questioned.

    There is no spoon.

    Don't take yourself so seriously!

I get a different kind of Dej.. Where I have lived the moment I am in as myself and last time it went differently on another timeline, recently I lived a moment I had differently to another persons memory of the same thing. (A persons memory was in my head)

Now after writing that, those memories are gone!

I think perhaps it is because I have been through a lot and my mind sparks random or somthing.. rarely.

It is incredibly rare. like weeks/months. I suppose I will either heal up, or go tits up.

In the days when I drank straight vodka every night, I once drank a particularly heavy dose one night, and the next day I had a feeling of deja vu almost continually for some hours. Apparently I did more damage to my brain than normal, and the deja vu was the result. So I got an opportunity to study my brain functions in this state.

One interesting aspect of this state was that I wasn't doing anything the least bit unusual. I was sitting in my cubicle at work, doing the same kinds of things I had done day after day for a long time. So a feeling of deja vu would kinda make sense in this way, cuz I HAD experienced this all before - a LOT. Yet normally, being in my cubicle doesn't give me this poignant awareness of having done this before - only on that one day. And on that one day, it felt as if being in my cubicle was a novel situation instead of a normal, mundane one. So after watching my mind do this for a while, I concluded that the alcohol had temporarily interrupted some of my normal memory retrieval pathways. The result was to make it seem partly as if I were experiencing being in my cubicle for the first time, and partly as if there were some slightly disconnected memories of being in my cubicle before.

However I don't mean to say the repeated events others have reported here were necessarily brain glitches. Just reporting this experience of mine, for interest's sake.

And I will also mention that I have had psychic experiences all my life...and I have had people answer my unspoken thoughts out loud. I have entire conversations with people in my head. And I know they were participating in their head, because later they said something in reference to the mental conversation that they couldn't possibly have known unless they had been participating in mental conversation with me as I thought they had been.

Matrix indeed - I like to think of the physical universe as kind of a huge virtual role-playing game. The "real" us - our spirits, or "higher selves" - are playing us in this universe as if we were avatars. At least, that's the way it seems to me. ;)

A lot of the ideas in The Matrix Trilogy have a basis in philosophy and science. The idea of "deja vu" is something that humanity has wondered about for thousands of years. The idea that this "life" is all some kind of "illusion" or a dream experience is not new either. Certain groups like The Gnostics taught ideas like the ones shown in these films.

Before I had watched The Matrix, the thought had never crossed my mind.

But once i'd watched the awesomeness that is that movie, yep there it was.

Every time I eat chicken, chicken DOES taste like everything, what is that?

the fact that op's significant other saw her getting into a car makes me think of doppelganger. Not sure about the matrix, idea but perhaps you have some psychic ability- maybe the Asian man you saw was a spirit? Maybe you are able to affect the energy around you?

It sounds like your brain chemistry is out if whack...
I read a few articles year's ago, that claimed scientists had discovered that the brain decides a split moment before the individual chooses to. The articles were debating whether or not free will existed. Now, it is believed in many scientific communities that this delay could also be linked to instances of deja vu. Your brain may have been witnessing events, showing them to you, and then showing them to you again at a brief delay. It may seem like a bit of time occurs between the delayed double event, but time is relative. I'll try to find some links later. Maybe. Im a bit busy, and my wake'n bake is over for the moment. Lol
