........my daughter is a true modern hippie...i have posted many times of her organic life-style...i am living on her farm atm....she has tons of hippie and non hippie friends....one of her good friends was on the cbc national radio today.. her name is montana jones and she is a sheep farmer...she near single handedly saved a rare breed of sheep called Shropshire from extinction and now breeds these beautiful animals here in ontario... 41 of these sheep were to be killed by the canadian food inspection agency today because of a genetic link to a sheep in another province that was found to have scrapie..a dangerous sheep illness.....the one sick sheep came from her farm 3 years ago and that is why the government is coming after these other sheep..they are related genetically.....montana has been trying to persuade the government to individually test each sheep before killing them but to no avail cut to the excitement...montanas 41 death row sheep were sheepnapped last night before the government could kill them...''the farmers peace corps'' even left a note .....montana is dead set against the spread of any sheep disease but giving that the canadian government were about to wipe out a third of all the sheep like this that are left in the world she felt some special attention was in order.......... please check out the site and sign the petition http://shropshiresheep.org/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRKppC_odPE"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRKppC_odPE
Nasty situation... Don't they have to kill the sheep in order to test them? I remember that's how it went here when it was scrapie test time. One or two sheeps were send of to get a head examine.
That was pretty cool that someone sheepnaped them before they could be killed. Petition signed :daisy:

the herd was located by cocksucker government officials and they slaughtered every one and every one tested negative for this disease cocksucker government also refused to save sperm or eggs for possible future breeding the woman is very shook up...it was her life's passion and now its been incinerated
only just saw this... so sorry for your friend and all the sheep... i doubt petition signing will be effective anyway... they have an agenda no doubt...
Dirty cocksuckin' bastards..... I'm sorry to hear man, that's a damn shame. Is there not a protected Endangered Species List in Canada? Or does the threat of disease trump protection?
Tried to sign--didn't work, but I see it doesnt matter now. Sure seems unreasonable -the way they conducted this. Maybe she can get a breeding pair and start over?
hey guys...thanks...i will pass on the concerns and try and get an update....my info was that she was very devastated by the whole thing
