Thinking Of Taking Dxm? Ask A Dex Head

i am pretty well rounded and have found alot of things said on here about it.if you want info from someone who is VERY VERY acquainted,you should ask me instead of starting new threads that seem to bother everybody

 

I just found some posts about it today on another forum, and although I'm prescribed dex, and have been on it for years and years, I also take it with an MAOI. (Yeah, I know. This makes everyone go crazy at the mere thought of it.) But it has worked for me for sooooo long. And safely. So my question is that one of the biggest contraindicated things for a person on MAOI is DXM. I would just like to cut down on what I see as a problem with tolerance developing (fast.) But I would prefer to stay alive too. Wouldn't chelated magnesium be a better idea?

Here is my question dexhead:
SWIM is on 50 mg a day zoloft and just took 150 mg of dxm. SWIM Though they did their homework on it but just realized the risk of serotonin syndrome. Should I be concerned with such a small dose? also has someone you know ever tired it? thanks!

 

sorry devotee but ive never heard of chelated magnesium but if you have been safely mixing dex and maoi's safely for years then i would say you have enough common sense to try a new maoi safely.keep in mind it will be different than your other maoi so dont go gung-ho with it till you have tested the water,have you heard of harmaline?i want to use that as an maoi sometime.i will agree it can sometimes be a little nasty lol but it is always magical.i have mixed it with zoloft to get a better kick,but if they can not take the zoloft for a day or two,then take a good dose of dex,that would be preferable.dxm is not something that really needs a bigger kick,it just draws crazies like me who wont get kicked hard enough to learn a lesson lol.if they havent really tripped on dex then they WILL NOT need an maoi.be carefull out there

 

what's all the hype with cough syrup? I understand cough syrups with codeine, but codeine is a pussy drug, but still an opiate.. Though doesn't do shit for me, but what would cough syrup like dxm on its own do?

 

delsum will give you one hell of a trip! fly your mattress into space. float and lose concept/direction of gravity fall in never ending holes... only did dex a couple times, my friend died while in a coma from a HUGE dex trip but was thankfully revieved so it obviously isnt good for you

 

holy crap that sounds amazing.. damn, now need to find a good method to take it.

 

there are good ways to take itand no drug thats worth doing is good for you lol.dxm is my favorite drug hands down.i've done alot of things,but nothing like dxm.if you can stomach the syrup just find some with only dextromethorphan in it and go to town,but there are Robitussin cough gels you can take for the same effect if the syrup kills it for you.

 

gotta go with the delsym... my first trip ever i drank a whole BIG bottle i was off my gourd, best trip ever the smaller one however isnt quite enough....

 

I wouldn't recommend taking DXM I went into a 9 months psychosis after taking it. If your going to do it anyway show it respect is very potent, make sure its only DXM not Tylenol or any other active ingredient. Have a trip sitter. Look up the different plateaus an decide how far your going to take it. One of the main side effects is audio hallucinations ( hearing voices ). Just be carful and enjoy. PEACE
