There is a lot of information out there right now concerning soy products and their effect on the delicate human hormone system. The theory is that soy acts like estrogen would in the body. Here are a few articles I've found that show some valid facts: http://www.environmentalhealthnews.org/ehs/news/estrogenic-effects-of-soy http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/200604/how-healthy-is-soy http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/soy.htm In your experience/ knowledge/ research...have you found that soy works against young, estrogen-producing women by tampering with their estrogen? There are theories also that soy *aids* women who are experiencing symptoms of menopause. Do you think it is a healthy alternative to pharmaceutical hormones? I am a young woman (25 years old), eat a lot of soy (soy burgers, tofu, tempeh etc..). I switched from soy milk to rice and almond milk. Can this affect the balance of my hormones? (short term or long term?) Also, there are concerns about soy products contributing to the development of breast cancer, is this plausible? Should young women be avoiding soy, and older women using it? What about kids and men? What is your opinion and/or experience on soy products? When it hit the mass market it was considered a miracle food, through studies and research has it lost its credibility?
i'm not knowledgeable about the topic, but i've wondered similar things. i don't eat much soy, but whenever i do, i recall hearing stuff about it making you grow titties. obviously that was an exaggeration, but illustrated the point.
There is very little active hormone in it.. For real. you guys worried about a little soy, but smoke Cannabis..
have you read the whole soy story? i'd rather eat other foods. soy is not part of my diet. historically it was always considered a starvation food, and it has to be highly processed to make it palatable. it's also high in antinutrients~so it basically steals nutrients from your body. read the book~the whole soy story, it's an eye opener.
It definitely won't "give you titties". Haha! It is bad for your stomach in high doses, so I've cut way back on my soy intake. Also, most soy is genetically modified so I can see it causing cancer.
I used to get soy protein powder because it was cheaper then the whey. I've stopped buying it after numerous people telling me about its estrogen like effects. As a bodybuilder I want my natural testosterone to be as high as possible, and if that means dishing out a few extra dollars for whey protein powder then so be it!
Soy is one of the absolute worst things a person can put into their body. Aside from the fact that most of it is GMO, it's loaded with these nasty estrogen hormones and contain all sorts of toxins. The only reason soy was at one time associated with health is because of marketing. Soy is one of the most unhealthy things ever passed off as being food. Fermented soy on the other hand... completely fine.
so i shouldn't eat edamame right? not a huge loss really - it's that THAT good and i hardly eat it anyways.
A $25M class action against soy milk. http://www.skynews.com.au/news/top-stories/2014/11/24/-25m-soy-milk-class-action-sends-message.html Coconut cream out of a can makes a good milk substitute for cooking.
i took an estrogen medication over a year for my MS / It didnt do anything to my body but make my skin and hair softer .. no titties.
my hens will gorge themseves on most food but require onlya small amountof soy beans to get by because of the high protein......so i guess myhens know to limit their soy intake.....you should too
