    The bar is open! :cheers2:

This one only serves alcohol, so if you want soft drinks, fruit juice, milk, coffee, or similar lame-ass baby drinks, you will have to order them in another thread. ;) Like any real bar, the age minimum is 21 (unless the drinking age is different where you live). I don’t want anybody confessing to crimes in here. We’re here to have fun! Happy hour starts now. :)

This thread idea has been around since 2006:

    Home brew beer.

I might also finish off the last little bit in the Evan Williams bottle later.

A nice, ice cold Heineken in a chilled mug. About four hours from now I'll be enjoying my first one of my Friday night.

A double shot of Southern Comfort in a glass of Dr. Pepper, while wearing my "I'm a Pepper" t-shirt.

I am not drinking any alcohol tonight, but tomorrow night I want to have a few drinks. I haven't drank anything in about 6 weeks so I could go for something good. I have money now (since the Semester started and I am a Graduate Teaching Asst.) so I can afford good alcohol. What should I do tomorrow night:

    1. 3 or 4 high-quality micro-brew/craft-brew beers.
    2. 2 or 3 glasses of good red wine.
    3. 2 or 3 servings of expensive whiskey or bourbon served 'neat' (ie: just poured in a glass unmixed).

Well, beer is for rednecks that have never found out how good whiskey is, and wine is for sophisticated women, so my vote is for #3.

Alrighty, 'tonight' is here, so I am still planning on having a few drinks like I said. I want to get bourbon or whiskey, but I am worried that, since I have not drank anything in so long (prior to the 3 beers I had a month ago, it had been 8 months since I drank), that I would not like the taste of bourbon. My taste buds are de-sensitized to it! So I will either love it or think it tastes too strong because I haven't had any in so long.

In just a few minutes, I'll be having Absolut vodka with sour mix and a splash of Midori.

I decided against going out to Main Street since none of my fellow graduate students wanted to do anything fun like that. So, I decided to keep my party at my apartment and that I would Skype with my friends who live in Atlanta. So I went to the liquor store not really decided upon what to get.

For some reason, and I don't know what compelled me, I decided on Red Wine (Merlot). I think I wanted something stronger than beer but I was put off by the prospect of drinking straight liquor since I haven't drank in so long. So I settled on the wine. I have a glass of it poured right now (in my wine glasses that I bought two years ago and used maybe 4 times). I have had a few sips and it is good. I paid $14 so it isn't super-great but it is way better than el-cheapo wine.

I've burned myself out on liquor. I'm a wine girl, now.

Hard liquor hits me too hard. I avoid it except for margaritas and daiquiris. Wine works for me! Can I mention wine coolers without be laughed at?

I know what you mean. I like margaritas and most rum-based mixed drinks, but I haven't had hard liquor in a few months or so. I won't laugh at you. . . I think wine coolers are too sweet, though. However, I do have a weak spot for those mojito wine coolers, if I feel so inclined. :)
