I know i've seen some people that got a tattoo after getting out of rehab for drug addiction or overcoming something that was life changing so to speak. I can't remember any of them lol. I finally beat my alcohol addiction, cold turkey, im 4th months in and i don't want to drink ever again. Anyways...i have no ideas and do not want a pic of a bottle or the word alcohol, drink, drunk...you know not refer to it... any idea you have might give me ideas.. ? :sunny:

no bigger than the palm of someones hand btw...

Pick something that has a lot of meaning to you, and will make you proud every time you see it.

What are some of the reasons you quit, could you incorporate them into a tattoo?

sometimes people do things like add something new for every year they've been sober - even just a tally where you add one mark every year or something like that.

is there someone in your life who was invaluable in helping you beat your addiction (either because you wanted to clean up for them, or because they provided support)? you could get their name somewhere.

Get a Flaming skull with machine guns for eyes with the empty bullet casings coming out of it's mouth.

Well i quit because i felt ever year i lived i put 5 on my body. I could see my health in many areas looking really bad. Looking back when i was in my worst shape from drinking i feel like i was truly poisoned.

I've though about a small picture turning into words or the other way around.

Nothing has clicked yet. :book:

First, congratulations...VERY well done exorcising that poisonous demon from your system.

I suggest the Japanese symbol for victory...

I might end up doing something like this once my first year hits. Who knows.

You could consider a phoenix.
The bird dies engulfed in flames before another rises from these.

Rock on! Maybe a tree, because it's strong and a symbol of growth?

But not a regular tree. A fucking awesome, broony-style tree. Eh?

Congratulations. It'll be 2 yrs Sept.12 for me. I also thought of getting a tattoo. Something to do with new beginnings maybe. Or something to do with overcoming obstacles. A little Buddha maybe.
Good Luck. Life is soooo beautiful without that shit runnin' through your veins.

get a picture of a demon, with like it looking like it being pulled back into hell (in your arm)

to exercise your demon, remove alcohol from ones life.

Be careful! Congratulations. Did you stop on your own? Or did you do rehab, 12 step? thearpy or anything else like that. I have been a 12 step program for almost two years. I understand it does not work for every one. What ever you are doing keep doing it. But be careful cause the swtich can come back on and you can have the obession again. However, this is just my opinon. Whatever path you chose I wish luck. I really like the idea of starting a large piece and adding to it for every year sober. For me I just got a peace sign on my stomach yesterday. My plan is to add too. Not nessicarly for every year I'm sober but I will add to it as my evolution as a spritual being continues. Good luck and God's speed.

I tried the 12 step but the religion side of it threw me off, i came to fix my problems not talk about a higher being....so in the end i ended up doing it on my own. If i would have continued my drinking ways, i would have been forced into rehab, so my last stand on my own, i won. It feels so good, hard to find words in overcoming something that is destroying ones self.

I've come up with some ideas using a few words and each letter will have a different font, representing part of the addiction i beat. One letter will look smokey from quitting cigs the other letters will be dripping wet like alcohol but the last 2 or 3 letters will be clear, for overcoming addiction.

I will show when i get it. Might be another month though....
