yes.. i 'pray' for a solar flare that kills all electronics.. as fucked up as it would be.. it would still be awesome. :sunny: you can do it, little buddy!
I can't wait tell its 2013 so everyone will shut up about this 2012. Mans predictions about world wide, cataclysmic events are always wrong. Its the only piece in the puzzle that fucks us in the end. The one we didn't think to look for.
We're all going to die? News to me, I always thought I was going to live forever, spiralling through eternity.
not even. we ARE all going to die. probably. individually though. whenever we do. and when we do, everyone else will go right on living just fine. until its each of their own turns. 2012? well it may prove to be an interesting year. or not. i doubt the calender that started in 1844 will be universally adopted that soon. or that we'll go back to one that's 5 or 6 thousand years old. so yes, there will almost certainly be a 2013 and so on. eye might die within the next decade. and at my age, quite probably within the next couple of them. SOME of you might. there may even be one or two of you closer to it then i am. though none of us are likely to know for sure, until it happens, or is real close to doing so. there are a lot of things that a lot of people can't imagine happining, that WILL happen within the lifetime of some of the younger people reading this. everyone dieing at once, is NOT however, one of them. but if anyone wants to meditate for the next year and a half, that's ok too.
I like to think of 2012 as a new year for the solar system. It was explained to me that just as a planet's complete rotation around the sun equates to one year, all of the planet's have gone through a full cycle around the sun. So it's like a new year for the whole solar system.
i'm not aware of their being any such actual physical correspondence. but it is a nice thought. the mayan calender people keep making a big deal about the year and all, was based on the relation between the orbits of earth and venus. not the actual orbital mechanics as we now under stand them of course, but the observable periodicity of that bright little light in the morning sky, sometimes called 'lord of the dawn' that the planet venus, un-aided appears to be. i don't really expect the year itself, nor any particular date in it, to yeald anything more profound then the american presidential election that will almost certainly take place, as it always does, in early november. the results of THAT could be scarry and or profound, or as likely not. there are of course many big changes continuing to go on in the saga of human society. as for good or bad: the usual mixed bag of both.
people want some dramatic big event to relieve them of their responsibilities. reality is not obliged to provide them with one.
Were supposed to have died like 5 times already or somethin... ** Sent from my phone using Tapatalk :]
every thousand years. every hundred years. and there's always someone comes up with it every couple of decades or so. a lot more then five too. its only five thousand years or so that there's a written record of people saying it was getting ready to happen. it's almost inevitably been going on a lot longer before that. every once in a while a population reducing even will happen, and we're probably due for one sometime in the next few decades. NOT an "end of the world"/"we're ALL gonna die". just more then usual of us, over a shorter span of time.
