re-visiting 2c-b

i had been planning a trip with my recently acquired 2cb for saturday. i had tried it only twice before at 20 mg and 30 mg, about a year and a half ago. this time i would take 36 mg. i woke up quite late that day and cooked 4 pieces of french toast for breakfast around noon. i also took two 500 mg pills of vitamin C and 3 x 200 IU of vitamin E. i had been taking smaller doses of the two all week to build up levels.

i had to take my cat to the vet at 2:00 and go to lab for about 40 mintues. it was a very wintery day which i was excited for, as i've had many great trips in the snow on 2ce. i ended up dosing at 4:00 in a small amount of warm tap water and some juice from the fridge.

i waited to come up on the forums, and actually started feeling alerts about a half hour in. so then on with the music, off with the forums, and into my bed i went. the 2cb was giving me the chills, but also making my armpits sweat. i was cold for the most part, but definitely couldn't get at a comfortable temperature. i had experienced this on 2ce as well, but it was more pronounced now. eventually the music started to sound more detailed, deep and meaningful. i tried to explore the CEVs, but found that they weren't very obvious. they were present, but i kinda had to look for them. for me, they were kinda similar to but more subtle than LSD CEVs, in that they were over top of a black background. i mostly saw darker colors like blue and purple, and remember seeing "waves" consisting of people almost. that was the most remember-able one.

after about 45 mintues of that (75 minutes after dosing) i got outta bed and started thinking about going outside. i felt like i was far enough into the experience to know what it was gonna be like, and i was now comfortable enough to smoke a bong. i took a hit or two and felt a huge grin overtake my face. i couldn't help it. music was now "butter to my ears." it was about this time that i posted this song in the music thread.

the notes were just so "juicy." the sound was so full and complete.

i was getting a bit hungry since i hadn't eaten since noon, so i had a small slice of leftover, homemade pizza. it was delicious. even my sense of taste was enhanced. my idea to go outside kept getting pushed back... i found myself back in bed, listening to music, this time with my fiance. she was actually trying to be a part of my trip. usually she'd kinda "judge" me for laying in the dark with my eyes closed - like "gee, this is fun." but now she was laying in bed with me and said "i'll be just like you" and closed her eyes. then she wanted to choose some songs and "show me some music." to be honest, after a while, she was kinda overtaking my territory and messing with my setting, but it was great to have her actually be interested. i had asked her before if she wanted to take some with me, and now she was asking if she should. i told her it was too late and she could next time. she probably just wanted me to try it out first.

i was twisting it very slowly making the design barely change. i was noticing fine details that i had never before. i was seeing a blue fluorescence where ever the green light was not. i entertained myself for quite awhile with that. much of the time in my bedroom was lit by candle light (writer), the same candle that i use to light my hemp wick for lighting my bong.

now it was finally time to go outside. something nice happened here. when i mentioned my desire to go out, my fiance had her normal objections. why did i wanna go out when it's dark? what was i gonna do out there? but THEN, she said, "i think sometimes i get in the way of enjoying life with you. why does that have to be an issue?" i was VERY nice to hear her say that. i thanked her. honestly, i would have preferred to go on a walk alone to get some introspective thinking done, but she wanted to come. we got bundled up and went out. i was frigid and windy, which i could handle on my own, but i felt bad for her, so we didn't stay out long. we just walked around out apt. complex rather than going to the park. it wasn't that exciting and we went back in.

back in the bedroom to listen to music again... she had gotten her pants wet in the snow, so naturally she took them off. she looked amazing and felt even better. i suppose i will spare the details here, but sex on this stuff was amazing. it had quite a rough, animalistic quality to it, while at the same time being very passionate. the former part was partly due to her being drunk, and the latter simply due to our feelings about each other.

after that, i hopped in the shower - where i experienced a worrisome hallucination. i wear black socks, so the fuzz from them was rinsing down the drain. it appeared, however, that it was my hair falling out! it only lasted a second, but i was convinced! other than that, the warm water felt great, as i had been pretty cold throughout the trip. after i got out, i had another bizarre thing happen. i have a light switch that controls the outlets that the TV is plugged into. i attempted to shut out the lights by flicking the switch and nothing happened. if you've ever seen Waking Life, you probably already know the thought that crossed my mind..."was i dreaming?!" i have a big interest in lucid dreaming, and one of the ways to train yourself is to ask this question. i found it quite entertaining and proceeded to do a few tests. then i asked my girl if this was a dream. she started messing with me, which at first was fine, i knew i wasn't dreaming now, but she kept it up and kept it up and actually frightened me quite a bit. she apologized when she could see that i was genuinely getting freaked.

then i basically spent some more time on the computer with music, smoked some more, and chinese food arrived. we ate that while watching some south park, then she fell asleep. i was already pretty much down by about 9:00 (5 hours after dosing, or about 4 and a half of tripping) and was developing quite the headache. i laid on the couch checking out random stuff on netflix. i started watching "Enter the Void" but did not get into it. eventually i fell asleep on the couch, then got up, brushed my teeth and went to bed. woke up with the same headache. took some more vitamin C, E and a multivitamin, as well as two tylenol 3s. i actually forgot about those until now. after 4 or 5 hours, a little food, some weed...i feel pretty decent.


i'm left wondering which i like better; 2ce or 2cb? the visuals, both opened eye and closed, and the musical enhancement seem better on 2ce. the body sensations are probably better on -b. the headache might actually be worse on 2cb, but it came without any hints of nausea or gut rot which is awesome.
but there is something about this trip that i can't quite put my finger on, like a sense of awe or something, that felt a little more complete than 2ce. maybe i could say that 2cb has more of a positive push to it, in contrast to 2ce's neutrality (even though i find that to be positive for the most part).

i'm also left wondering what a combo of the two would be like. i'd probably try 13-16 mg 2ce + ~25 of -b, aiming for 2cb to kinda be in the forefront, with 2ce adding a little to the visuals and musical enhancement.

edit: i also should mention that i'm getting over a cold i've had for about two weeks...so i had a very slight stuffy nose and phlegmy throat. probably not the wisest thing to trip when you're sick.

 

Sounds like a good time. I too felt a great appreciation for music on 2cb, almost more so than on LSD. Loved the energy it gave me. Did you end up going outside?

 

Good report, man It's awesome that she is trying to be more understanding and accepting of your use of psychedelics. Hopefully she won't back out of dosing with you next time.

i get more of an appreciation for music on 2ce i think, and probably on LSD too. but i think 2ce makes music better than L, even though L is my favorite for sure.

i did end up going outside, but it wasn't very eventful.

it is awesome. and she didn't really back out of dosing with me, since she said she wasn't going to. it wasn't until i was already tripping that she said "should i...?"

 

Yeah I read that part, and I just went back and read the additions you made. Has she ever tripped before?

And I agree......music is amazing on 2ce. It's probably the most amazing substance I've ever taken, as far as music appreciation goes.

 

Sounds like a great time! I'm glad this one really shined out for you. I swear we are living in parallel relationships, my bf is so much like your fiance but even more of a hard head lol. I completely turned him off of all chances of ever trying anything ever again with the 2c-e (which he only took to shut me up) and I always get the sense that he "judges" me and the things I want to do while tripping. He also messes with me hardcore (like driving 60mph in a blizzard and almost flipping the car) until it starts to really bother me lol not cool.

The tactile and sensual enhancement on this one is really something, isn't it? Usually psychedelics completely destroy my libido and even though it took a little coaxing on 2c-b for me, once I relaxed and let the synesthesia of touch and visuals take over, it was an amazing experience!

I know what you mean about that sense of wonder you get from 2c-b and how it compares to 2c-e. 2c-e leaves you in awe because of the pure power it shows you, 2c-b blows your mind with its sheer beauty. It's hard to believe anything can be that beautiful! But anyway, good times man, I'm soooo happy you got a proper experience with the Bee

i had planned on increasing my dose to 44 mg next time, but now i'm thinking i might try a similar dose or even a smaller one. i could definitely handle the trip getting more intense, but i don't want my headache to get worse.
it is a BEAUTIFUL trip, but it's hard to say what exactly is so beautiful.
we do seem to have quite a bit in common.

yes on LSD a few times (once this past summer, but mostly 4-5 years ago) and shrooms once i think and didn't like 'em.


oh, i also wanted to say that i think 2cb is a much better candidate than 2ce for introducing to my loved ones. i think my fiance will really like it if she tries it, and my brother who's only tried LSD once. also a buddy of mine who prefers low doses of L and shrooms, but never tried an RC. i think 2cb is much more his style than 2ce.

 

^^^ I agree. I sorely regret giving my bf 2c-e to start off with but it was a spur of the moment decision on his part and it's what I had on hand. Even if he still decided he never wanted to try anything ever again, at least he would have had a good time on 2c-b or even more likely, MDMA. Derrrp.

 

point taken, but that's not why i said that. i wouldn't fault you for starting him on (or him choosing to start with) 2ce. hell, that's what i chose to do, because it was supposedly one of the more intense ones.
i initiated two of my buddies on 2ce, because like you, that's what i had. i might have another friend or two that i'd feel comfortable starting with 2ce, since they are more experienced and might prefer a more intense trip.

but for my fiance, my brother, and my one friend in mind...2cb would be great. the other candidate would be mescaline, after i have an initial trial with it alone.

 

I know what you meant. Unfortunately 13mg was enough to give him gut rot and a few visual distortions but he reported no change in headspace and after 3-4 hours felt completely back to normal. It's just a damn shame that that would be his first and last experience with anything other than caffeine or alcohol and now he's got an even worse impression on drugs than he did to begin with.

I can get overly passionate about wanting to introduce/share psychedelics with people I care about because I want them to experience the wonder, too! To me, it's like the greatest gift you can give someone you care about aside from your own love. Realistically, I know it's not everyone's bag, but I get caught up in the moment and can't seem to understand how anyone wouldn't want to experience it. I guess it's kinda like how some moms show their love with down-home cooking, I spread the love through psychedelics. But anyway, this is your thread, so I'll step off it now

 

no need to step off it. the main reason i write these TRs is to sort of document my trip, and be able to look back on it months later. but the other reason is to generate conversation, which is what you're doing

i definitely get a little too excited about sharing with others too. i'm sure some of my friends get sick of hearing about it, or think i'm a little carried away with psychedelics.
i had a really great time tripping on acid and introducing my one buddy to 2ce awhile back. we tripped on it maybe 3 times together and i gave him a few doses for free. he's the one i tripped on 2cb with the two previous times. we had similar reasons for tripping, and could go pretty deep even in the presence of company. we've since sort of lost touch which is a bummer. but i'd love to give him a proper sample of 2cb.

dropping acid in the forest this past summer with my fiance and our two friends was another time where i (re)introduced people to psychedelia. and of course with my younger brother this past summer. he's ready to try it again this summer, and when i brought up maybe 2cb instead of L, he said "as long as it's even close to last time, i'll do it"

 

Very well written trip report Porkstock. I agree with you that I think 2cb is somehow the most complete, well rounded? 2c there is. It certainly doesn't provide the visual spectacle 2ce or 2ct7 does but like you said there is such a strong sense of awe in the experience. Plus There aren't really very many negatives with the chem, I'm surprised you got a headache on into the day. Its cool that your gf seemed to be accepting more of your tripping. I imagine its sometimes difficult to fully embrace a psychedelic experience when one you love is there reminding you they don't condone it.

 

i did a hefty dose (between 40-60mg) and was having way more open eyed visuals than I ever did with 2ce. As far as music appreciation goes I found that it made drums/ any kind of percussion in particular sound a million times better

I agree, large doses produce fucking awesome surreal visuals. Like rainbow smears, tracers, plasma, bubbles, EVERYWHERE. Drenching everything in fucking rainbow. Nothing has ever givin me such colorful real visuals. I remember at one time it would change back and forth between pastel and florescent while everything underneath would go between regular and negative. Idk it's hard to explain. At that point of the trip all I could do was lay there. Couldn't talk or anything.

 

^^^do you guys get a headache from doses ~35 mg, and if so, does it get worse with a higher (40-50 mg) dose?

i need to make sure i drink plenty of water, that could have something to do with my headache.

no doubt. even when she agrees that i can trip, and says she doesn't care...i know she cares. not to mention, i'm gonna be tripping so her "vibe" is that much easier to read.

 

I think all my 2cb trip reports on here which include music have drum n bass songs, definitely agree!

 

pork - perhaps the Vitamin C preload could have contributed a bit to your headache? Especially if you don't normally take that much. I think it can act as a bit of a desiccant, and phens ALWAYS dehydrate me even when I know I'm drinking plenty of water... could have been a dehydration headache.

ETA: ah, I see you mentioned that up there... and re: the gf saying she doesn't care... totally happens with me. He always seems somehow "annoyed" in an unspoken way at first but once I'm good and tripping I guess he sees that I'm not some kind of hideous monster and I'm usually pretty entertaining company if I do say so myself lol then we have a good time... or maybe I'm just paranoid during the comeup :tongue:

i hadn't considered that my vitamins could have contributed to the headache. the reason i took them is to prevent something like that (actually to prevent actual damage due to free radicals, which i presume could manifest as a headache). i can only imagine the headache becoming less of an issue at a lower dose. maybe 30 mg would be more like it for me. what is your normal dose of 2cb if you have one, SB? how much do you plan on dosing if you do it again?
