Vevo and WMV are a bunch of penny stealing whores. Greed is destroying everything we know and enjoy. It seems the only way to fix the problem is to leave the scene. Its scary and impossible for most, but the way things are going. You can only stop something when you give them no profit. In order to do this you have to give up so much. Eventually you will only view what is given to you, this will give you selection you don't want. In The end you will do what you are told.
Meh, I guess I just don't give enough of a shit about YouTube... but I've used Vevo a lot in the last little while: the videos seems of better quality and sound. If I didn't like, I just wouldn't watch Vevo videos... Maybe I'm missing something though, I'm rarely on YT, so I probably am... And with the commercials at the beginning: can't you close them now after 5 seconds? Before you HAD to watch them.
Everything This is a global scale, not just on the internet. It's in the food, the cloths, automobiles, entertainment. Everything. Its not one country, but in yours as well. Im sad to feel that my lifetime wont see protest to the corporate greed. Im guessing you enjoy youtube as do I, but you have posted "fuck the us government" and still support the government that allows that site. We are all in a puzzle right now.
It best way of protest is to stop using what they supply: if you want what they offer, then try to find a product that isn't so jammed with advertisements. If there is no other option, I don't think any kind of protest will help. What would it do? The people who started the company saw a need in the world for their future product: they made money off innovation and eventually marketing and greed: it works. If you care, stop using/buying from them. You can't control the masses on the matter, however. As for YouTube: again, it's a business. It's only source of revenue is through ads (or donation, and although wikipedia has made that work, it may not for YouTube). Youtube is provided to you FREE!!! (excluding the charge of internet services, unless you're at a library). Just ignore the 10 second ad in order to watch a 10 minute video. EDIT: I voted for the penguins! tee-hee, too cute!
I don't know about you but getting the internet every night is not free. Youtube is fucking expensive and its cost is only going up.

Everything we encounter is brainwashing, from the people we interact with to the shows we CHOOSE to watch. All influence our thought processing. But look, you obviously recognize that you don't want to watch a stupid ad: then don't. No one is forcing you to go to YouTube. You do have a choice. As for the 'free' argument: Do they charge you an additional fee beyond you monthly bill from your service provider? Some porn sites do, as do some news sites: there are plenty. YouTube does not.
How else do you expect Youtube to make some money? With ads of course, who gives a shit about Vevo, i don't support them but i also couldn't care less, you can skip an add after 5 seconds... whats 5 seconds wasted? And it's not all Vevo's fault, who let Vevo on the site to post all these ads? Youtube. If your mad don't boycott vevo, boycott Youtube. But whats the point? TV is filled with ads, do you boycott that too?
I use commercial time on tv for bathroom breaks and checking other channels so yes..I guess I do boycott it I use google chrome and found that the adblocker add on works to block vevo ads
