You can only proffer evidence in support of an argument. To offer proof beyond doubt. However, it is fallacious to insist upon the proof of something in the negative. That cannot ever be given.

The idea of an Illuminatus is completely whack. There simply is no proof that any group of people ever can act so efficiently as to produce such long reaching results, through the hearts and minds of peoples over the surface of the whole globe, through time.

All we do have are people still acting from rank superstition - as against those who act from rank science, but neither are correct.

The true governing elements are the beurocracies, which are all going to fail. For instance you can have the mightiest computer, and the mightiest server, but you still cannot produce internet speed in excess of it's fastest terminal. You cannot squeeze blood from a dime, and you cannot get all this world to act any quantifiable or qualifiable way. This is especially true as regards acting from theory, as opposed to material realism.

There is no Lucifer, just as there is no God. These two things fall into the same concept as squeezing water from a dime, which is that humans simply cannot act out of their highest moral self interest and there is no selflessness anywhere to be seen free from the egotism of the one acting as such. Jesus is only as true as the actions of his best believers. So also Mohammed and all the rest. Any deity reserved and aloof from humanity is of little use for any posturing.

Humans are all still living too largely in the dark age to effect any coherent strategy for developing this planet's resources.

But ecologically speaking, since 99.9% of all energy comes from the sun, when we finally have used up all our reserves of solar energy (fossil fuels, etc), and have not used them to produce more efficient energy engaging inventions, we will then be shit out of luck for raising our sights ever again to anything aesthetically so pleasing as space travel, higher physics, chemistry, or education and we will become again as apes (and we are not yet so far removed).

    Lovely....people....

    Midgardsun:

News on the Dominique Strauss Kahn front. He is being sprung......seems the chambermaid is a hooker who had been turning tricks, even while in protective custody as well as in the hotel. It was an extortion set-up, and he will be found innocent of rape.

Any reflections on this from your sources?

I really hope that a war doesn't start. We need to change fuel from our current oil. That would help the U.S. economy a bit. Unfortunately, the technology used to produce solar and wind power uses rare earth metals like neodymium, which China is sitting on a lot of at the moment. Personally, I have a bad feeling about the future of America in the next century. Who knows though? Maybe everything will turn around. Right now though, the U.S. is in a tight spot...WWII revitalized our economy from the Great Depression and I hope it doesn't take WWIII to figure out the current global dispute.

The issue ,high on the agenda at the G20 meeting in South Korea- doesnt look promisng
China [/U]has resisted pressure from the US to allow the value of its currency, the yuan, to rise.
Many countries in Asia, including the host, are reluctant to raise the issue for fear of antagonising China, a major trading partner. Switzerland also began selling Swiss francs on foreign exchanges last year to weaken its currency.

Nothing positive comes outta these G20meetings- - especially now, with everyone tip toeing around China. Countries that used to cave to US pressure or at least respect this countries plans and ideas, now see what a mess(debts and otherwise) things have become. I guess its a wait and see thing- - politicians are afraid to be proactive and at this point would rather respond - - I forsee worse times ahead in many countries- with the USA near the top of countries that should be concerned

China will be in trouble in a few years, mark my words. The Chinese educated middle class are begining to realise how little they are paid and how hard they work for that pay. They are started to walk from jobs, realising they are worth more than what they are getting. This is going to become a major problem for China within the next five years.
Chinese local governments are borrowing heavily from the banks and the banks can't call them out for not repaying the loans as this would be as anti-government. Something has gotta give, and soon.
China fiddles with it's national figures, and makes everything look bigger, richer and better than it actually is - it always has and it always will.
And then to go into the Chinese mindset - there is no innovation there, no creativity. They know how to make something bigger than the previous model, but they don't know how to make a new model. China doesn't have enough creative, innovative brain cells to become the worlds biggest super power.

You could replace "China" with most Western countries and it would make more sense, though some of it can be applied to China. What you said is almost racist... To imply that the Chinese mindset lacks innovation and creativity, that there are far too few of those brain cells in China... Have you ever been to China?

Are you aware of the global patent situation in terms of who is churning out the most patents?

midgardsun, do you watch any of Max Keiser's shows? They're in English but I'm sure you can find subtitled versions if you can't speak english very well. He has a great angle on the global financial situation.
