We will be leaving CO and moving to Grand Haven, Michigan in May/June of next year 2011 and are curious if anyone knows of any communes/intentional communities near there, off the grid if possible, or anyone who needs help in getting one started. We are selling everything we have and moving in with my husbands mother to buy us time to search for the perfect living situation for us. Our family consists of myself and my husband both in our mid to late 30's, hopefully our 11 year old daughter and our new baby girl who is almost 2. Please feel free to ask any questions or offer any suggestions. Much love and appreciation.
Well - we are getting itchy feet in a bad way and can't wait to come home. Hubby is learning to play acoustic guitar and I am going to buy a drum, so we can make sweet music together - We have determined that Lake Village Homestead might be a great community to get involved in for starters, but our idea of living in a community is more on the hippie side - we want the opportunity to build, grow, can, sew etc. Everything necessary to live, grow, love, learn and make a difference. Any ideas? We both have determined that our way in to this kind of community will be to go to events, gatherings etc. to gain trust and show others how great our family is and how we are laid back, earth friendly, ecofriendly, 420 friendly and everything in between. I am taking my last week paid vacation in March and am curious if anyone knows of any events/gatherings that might be taking place during this time? Please help us make this wonderful change in our lives, make a difference for our children and abandon this government encrypted portion of our lives behind.
I am still looking to form an intentional community in Northern Michigan. What is your time frame? Email me at thefarmproject2015@gmail.com
