Globalization is takin' place in PerĂ¹, unfortunately not so well for the amazon region, There have been lots of protets in all the country for the minority communities of the amazony.
Is that land titled? I read an article on the situation in Chiapas in Mexico and the aurthor pointed out that a big part of the problem for the Zapatistas in Chiapas is that their land isn't titled naming a legal owner of the land. Without the land being titled then the Mexican gov't views the land as being theirs do with what they see fit. If that's the situation in Peru then both the indigenous people of Peru and Mexico need to get some help from some real estate lawyers to get legal ownership of the land.
This always happens....Things appear to get better in poor countries, but then the gap just grows and grows and the country gets stuck in a rut. We need to rethink things.
