I've been using tampons for years. I've regularly had periods for 14 years and I've been only using tampons for the past 13 years. i am 25 years old now and not new at these things.

I know how to properly insert a tampon and I know it goes up far enough. i use the regular size which is the proper size for me. But here is the issue... Through out the day, my tampon slowly starts to slide out. Not really far, just enough for the tip to slightly come out. So if I ever push out with those muscles down there by laughing, sneezing, or peeing, the tip of the tampon comes out but not so much where I really notice and it's really no big deal, unless I have to pee.

What's weird (and kinda gross) is every time I pee, even after i just insert a tampon, it pushes out and I end up peeing on the tip of it. I still don't really notice but I will normally take care of my business, wipe, flush, wash my hands and I'm done. But some how, the pee will soak into the cotton and slowly leak out. Within 20 minutes my pants will feel damp. Then I need to run back to the bathroom and change tampons even if it was a fresh tampon. I've gone through many tampons a day just cause I need to change it every time right after I pee when often it really doesn't need to be changed. Does this happen to any of you? Do you always change your tampon every time you have to go to the bathroom?

This is different than my usual type of threads on hipforums but i am bored and ragging right now. So now I'm curious. How can i prevent this?

I usually did, or at least checked beforehand to make sure it wasn't sliding. Remove before, and add new one after. Occasionally they started to slip, but a well-placed finger moved them back in and back to my day I went. Now, I've moved to the DivaCup and refuse to use tampons ever again. The cup comes with her own interesting grotesqueries, but they're cleaner than tampons for the most part.

ive had slide out issues, almost exactly as you describe! my flow is very heavy bacause of some meds im on, so i change tampons every time i hit the bathroom, and sometimes in between (sometimes as little as half an hour until leakthrough, i cant wait to get off these meds!)
you may try Instead to see if you are amenable to the cup style, but they are not the same as a diva or moon cup. they are available at your local grocery though. and if you'd rather stick with tampons maybe look into "reusable pads" on etsy and stuff. there are some patterns out there too. they usually snap around your panties, and that might give you the extra protection without the bulk of a "real" pad. gotta love flannel on your coochie!

    have you tried larger tampons?

could also be the brand.. some expand length-wise instead of width-wise
    ob is the best imo

also maybe you could try doing kegels.. are you a bit stretched out maybe? sorry to be so explicit.

Larger tampons do it worse than the other ones. I am not stretched out at all. I'm too tight actually and even though I've had a lot of sex in my time, lol, it hurts to be with a man with a larger than average dick. I actually prefer small dicks. But I can't wear the junior ones cause those are too small and for virgins or light days. They slip out cause I'm too small usually. Sometimes they do feel uncomfortable because I'm too small. I refuse to use pads though. Thats more uncomfortable and I don't wear or own panties. Plus I feel like I can smell it and try to avoid people even though nobody has ever told me they can smell it.

here's my 2-bits: try changing positions when inserting...ie; standing insertion rather than sitting insertion, I've noticed that my cervix is closer to the vestibule when sitting, and standing creates an elongation...

thats totally true, i might have to try some different positions later this month!

and i notice that i can smell myself too, but ive even asked my hubby, hes has never noticed it. i think we are just familiar with our own scents, and in a primitive time you had to be aware or else a bear or a wolf would track you. so i just accept it as a primitive brain throwback.

It's polite not to mention anything about smell and it is hardly noticeable anyway. It dosen't bother me and I'm a guy.

Well you may really want to consider using a pad. About the smell - I can smell when my girlfriend is on her period and it is noticeable to me.

pads are terrible; they feel like diapers...
    tampons are full of chemicals
and both tampons and pads contribute to litter.
get a diva cup; it stays in because of the physics; they're reusable, pay for themselves right away, are toxin free and environmentally friendly.

I've had something similar to that, where I feel like it's out and it feels really irritating, I feel like it's torn up down there to be honest x.x I know this is In the reply section but Im having trouble with my tampon inserting, I can I sett the whole thing just perfectly fine until I start pushing the inner tube itself, it starts backing out and not wanting to go in, and I know for sure I've pushed the whole thing in completely /: any advice?

I had this problem a few years ago and it turns out I had a rectocele prolapse! Ended up having major surgery last year to rectify this. Get yourself down to the doctor as left untreated a rectocele becomes a major issue.
