Hi all. This halloween a friend and I are going as Mickey and Mallory from Natural Born Killers. I'm going as Mallory. What do you think is her most memorable look from the movie?
a 45 and hooker boots but seriously maybe where she had pigtails in the restaurant scene playing the jukebox, or where she was a blonde in the red dress, as long as he has on a white t-shirt with a pack of marlboro reds rolled in the sleeves, and shades you should be good.
An Incredibly mean and Evil Movie......... I had a chance to get this on VHS and I didnt even bother....... This movie is quite mean!! COLD BLOODED MURDER is not something ANYONE SHOULD WANT TO SEE or encourage!
Well the problem with Movies like this are: PEOPLE SEE THIS AND ARE ANGRY THEMSELVES and cannot seperate A MOVIE FROM REALITY and then they go out and do it for real!!
How many people that watched this movie has acted upon it in the way you are implying? A very small minority, if not just none. Would you like to see movies like this banned just because there is a chance someone might get the wrong kind of inspiration from it?
I did some checking, and there's actually a Wikipedia page devoted to the crimes supposedly inspired by this movie, including a 1995 crime spree by two young people from Oklahoma who said they tripped on acid and watched NBK several times beforehand. It resulted in a lawsuit against Oliver Stone and Time-Warner that was eventually thrown out on the grounds that the film wasn't intended to incite actual violence. Now, were they actually inspired by this film? Probably. But if they hadn't watched this film would they have committed acts of violence anyway? Probably. They both had histories of drug abuse and psychiatric problems, with the young woman being hospitalized in a mental facility at the age of 13. So when the two of them met the stage was already set for trouble. Blaming things like this on violent movies and music is just dodging the issue. There are real issues in this society we could be focusing on, and blaming movies and music on these shooting sprees that are occurring more and more frequently is just a cop-out. Personally, I enjoyed this movie, and I've seen it several times. But I just see it as a satire on the media, specifically tabloid media.
