This is exactly why my hubby n I have not rushed out to get any tattoos and in fact, neither of us have any.

I have thought of covering old scars (needle marks) on my hands w my sons initials and some tasteful stars and may in fact, get that one day. However, currently I am using a good scar gel instead that is fading them to the extent that I do not feel I will need to cover with a tat.
I, at some point, may get my kids initials somewhere else...but really, I don't feel any need to do so. I kinda like feeling DIFFERENT because I DON'T have any tats. From the people I Know that is pretty much a rarity.

So this is a "they are NOT sleazy and you HAVE to hire fucled up looking people!" Thread?

Why waste time on the obvious. Just go work in a porn store or bar or something? People should have the right to say "look it's my money and I don't want somebody fucked up looking in my shop" period.

Sorry if you think that's "close minded" some people just look at it as having a ounce of class.

Class? Is being a grouchy ass bigot also part of having class?

In the end, if you work for an employer, you're always going to be subject to their dress code. That's life. If you don't like it, give the corporate world the finger and be your own boss.

    Sigh..

Sleazy. Somebody said something about being sleazy if *the person* is sleazy and I agree with that. I think tattoos and piercings can be benign .. it's just a current, cultural fashion thing. There are people who take it to extreme but I still wouldn't immediately think of them as "sleazy".

I never got into face & body piercings .. too pop culture for my taste. If "everybody's doing it" .. I don't want to. That's just how I am. But I do have max piercings that my ears would allow. And I got my daughters' ears pierced when they were infants.

My brother is a tattoo artist person ha. Two of my tats were for his practice. It's a sense of pride and bonding that I cherish (even though my brother & I no longer relate). I'm not me without my tattoos. They *have* to be there .. almost like a genetic program that I couldn't disobey if my life depended on it.

Of course, I don't think of myself as "sleazy". I have plenty of marks against me .. some crowns and gowns of glory I'll never wear. But sleazy isn't a word anyone could ever use to describe me.

My last piece (which is about 7 years old) taught me A LOT. I realized that my tattoos form a story. Put all the pieces together and an *image* starts to form. Then I met somebody who was like a walking, talking billboard because their tattoos formed a story .. like a book I could read.

Whispering now, so I don't hurt the reactive fearful types: I learned a lot about why tattoos are "wrong" (the guidance and advice in the Bible is to not get tattoos). Now I know why. I'd get more though .. if I could afford it. Heh.

This one may not be a perfect fit but I think .. sleazy? Ha, heh. Show me everybody naked and disfigured hahaha

Oh but remember Gothica? With Halle Berry. The dude with the tattoos...

I'm forever influenced by that image and yep.. I use it as a guide and means to *discern* the difference between one in the right and one to beware of.

Fine, but it's gonna be hard trying to "prove" to the world right and wrong by opening a kid service looking like you belong in a biker bar. "Being your own boss" is the priority of success, not proving something. I'm just not interested in a baby sitter or teacher with a tongue stud and tats. Neither are most people, for good reason.
Her boyfriend needs to keep on his path and she needs to find someone to go downwards and help her waste both of their lives on the latest dumb fad that is already passe' -

If you have them fine. Some do have "personal" menings. Sailors used to get them to prove they had sex. I don't think blaming the bible is anything but bs. People just look at it like "oh. You did not think you were ok as is, so you're trying to make something" and that's part of it too. That perception of personal lack.

Cosmetic and medical tattooing is one thing. I have seen that with my own eyes and seen it change a life. Vanity tattooing is really nothing but?

You are very very very wrong. I have plenty of tattoos and a nose piercing. I run a home daycare, and I have people knocking my door down to get their kids a spot with me. I'm the best there is, and my tattoos and piercings have no effect on that.

Also, I didn't get my body modifications to make myself better. I do it because I enjoy modifying my body.

Get off your mother fucking high horse.

The Bible only offers certain guidance and advice. In other words, the guidance and advice in the Bible is based on *certainty*. Those who understand it know that *the reasons* for the guidance and advice are sound (certain, factual). It's only guidance .. it isn't a Law. But for *spiritual* law .. the truth is ALWAYS the truth.

Not too many people understand it. I didn't come to understand it until after I was tattooed. "live and learn".

The fact that people don't understand can be a benefit, actually. It's called *innocence* (they don't know .. they're unknowing). For the reasons of guidance against getting tattoos .. most people in this world today are not going to have much to worry about. MOST people. Some .. they'll find out. And the truth will burn them (like it burned me).

I'd STILL get more tattoos, though. Why? I'm *already* tattooed.
