Aphonopelma hentzi This species is regarded as one of the slowest growing in the tarantula world. I bought this one at around 0.5'' some 5 years ago. It is now 1.5''. Funny thing is when I purchased this one I also got myself other tarantula species of the same exact size. Most of the others have already reached adulthood, some reaching 7''. This species reaches maturity at around 4.5'' - 5''. So I estimate that it will reach adulthood in about 12 years or so. And after that they can be expected to live 25 years or more.
That's pretty much the same story of how I got my dog. I'm huge animal person, I love them so much. So I used to hang out with one of my sisters friends. And her neighbor was a real dickhead and totally neglected his dog. I had an instant connection with him (the dog) So we came up with a plan and smuggled him to my house. His name is Jake. He's a chow chow/German Shepard mix.
I love your cats. Lenny is cute with his tail all fluffed up. Cracks me up when cats do that. I used to have five cats. Now I only have one. I miss having all those little brats around. But I still have my first one. Calli.
did someone say pets?? to be honest, I don't really have a habit of doing this, but since they bring me so much joy, as does looking at yours', well here ya go! not mine, but they're "mine" in my heart. They are shy too, so we call them "graybee" and "blackie" ^^ ? ? ? and there used to be a fishtank in back. Dad finally got sick of it. :/ (I like fish too. so relaxing to watch ) oh, one more because I just love this one! hehe Yeah, Graybee does some pretty funny stuff, well they all do, but he's quite the character...and my next best pal (after the one I lost of like 16 years??) ?
Here's a late night group pic of our Cat. Her original owner named her Ursula, so my daughter decided she should not rename her. The pattern on her forehead looks like an owl...
The most special wonderful cat in the world, Brownie Brown. ? Princess is resting after reading "her" book. This is BB, the cat I rescued (with assistance) from the demon's building across the road...she and The Mother rule the house. Right now she is ruling my seat on the sofa. Last, but certainly not least...the polydactyl, Gimli aka Benny aka Liam. He is my right hand man when I work in the yard and he is the one that likes to alert me to where snakes are. He actually THINKS he likes to play with them...until I yank him away and kill them!
not sure if I already posted in this thread, but here is the most recent pic of Buddy after he had a shower; I also have some aquariums, if you want look at my profile gallery, there are a shit-ton of pics of the fish, corals and invertebrates that have been "pets" over the last few years.
Meli (Melibeans, MelsBells, Chubbins, Lil' Beans, My Lil Porkums, I can go on forever...) Fatboy (Fatty, Fattyfattyboombatty, Ol' Man, HEY!)
LOL Are all gray cats evil? Next cat to live here will be orange or orange and white again....that is for sure.....
