Coffee is cool with me; it's basically just steps away from chocolate, in my eyes. I love Costa Rican coffee more than any other. There are a couple types I would never try. I don't really like flavored coffee at all. I don't like Starbucks as they perennially screw-over the producers of coffee beans. And I wouldn't try Kopi Luwak...cause...that's disgusting. I do like espresso. I don't like people who pronounce it expresso...which is not a word. -BlkBks
I'm not sure how they relate to the producers of coffee beans... maybe something I should look into. But ever since we got a Coffeesmiths a couple blocks away I have been going there from time to time, and I'm impressed. It's cheaper than Starbucks, friendly staff, awesome environment. I go there and watch videos online because they load way faster than they do here at home. I've heard a lot of people pronounce it expresso. It's funny. I used to think it was pronounced that way when I was a kid.
Here's an example. True, this is back in 02, but they've always been bad news for producers. They buy in bulk and farmers always get shafted. One would think it would be a more lucrative business. But farmers/producers make very slim profit, whereas marketers make almost 70%+ profit. Plus, I've just never liked the way their coffee tastes, especially their status-symbol double-mocha latte starbucksaccino crap. Not big on it. However, I love iced-cappuccinos. They're used to be this shop called the Briar and Bean, where I lived that served excellent coffee/tea and tobacco products. I think they're still there. Should go pick one up someday. =/ -BlkBks
The one thing I like about Starbuck's is when I buy a bag of beans, and I can ask for the little paper bag with the handle, to carry it in. I always say "Oh,,can I have one those posh and trendy little bags, the tony one that's both fashionable and chic, smart, stylish and utile?" Those wishing to be "in vogue" can't be without their little Starbuck's bag.
My boyfriend likes starbucks coffee, so he buys it with food stamps from the grocery store then takes the empty package back to starbucks because if you do that, you get a free cup of coffee. Sorry taxpayers.
