How much do hotels or hostels usually run for? Im planning on going during spring, and ive heard that around Easter, the prices get much higher because of the holiday. I need to figure out how much money to save up. Or better yet, is there any camping oportunities there?

Join the maroons for traditional singing, dancing, and drum-playing at the Accompong Marroon Festival. Each year on January 6, the descendants of Cockpit Country's 17th-century runaway slaves gather to celebrate their victory over the British. Or plan your around the Ocho Rios Jazz Festival, in June.(www.ochoriosjazz.com) Young coconuts that haven't yet developed a hard inner brown husk or firm white flesh, but are full of delicious tasting liquid. The vender will slice off the top of the nut for you. It's now ready for you to drink, straight from the shell. As with any other soft drink, coconut water works as a mixer and can be spiced with a squeeze of lime.

May to November, during the off-season. Spend the day in Alligator Pond, a deep blue bay backed by dunes.Surfing at Long Bay in the northeast-a crescent-shaped bay with rose-colored sand and deep turquoies waters. Evert'ing cool, mon? (a common greeting much like 'how are you?')

it is a long time the last camping site has closed because it is more interesting for the land on the seashore to be in the hands of hotel promoters..september is a very empty month in jamaica and october as well everybody goes back to school and work inside and outside the island.. this is my favorite month there.. if you are smart you can go to reggae beach in ocho rios at 9 oclock on a tuesday or wednesday when cruiseship is not there and the beach is empty!if you like events there are a lot of things happening for independence day on the sixth of august especially shows in almost every city and traditional dances but the best show of the year is rebel salute in january a roots music show on the south coast..this show is affordable and deals with roots music and rasta culture.. there are excellent artistes and lots of international audience.january is also an empty season just after christmas but the show is around the 16 of january because it is for the birthday of tony rebel a well-known singer that is totally organizing it..normally the events organized by the tourist board are far more expensive because they target foreign tourists.. on eastern it is true with the phenomena of spring break prices must be higher! i know a person that rents a room in ocho rios in rural jamaica you can send me an email: rootsmystory@yahoo.com it seems it is more affordable than hotels but it is not on the beach..
