are we talking perverted gov'ts or perverted common citizens? if we're talking citizens, America all the way. People chase something that is actually referred to as a dream...if it's gov't we're talking about: china, myanmar, North korea, afghanistan, Iran, there's a lot of good candidates, including America once again

why do I envy the netherlands? because they have a tradition of tolerance. there's no perfect gov't or country but some try to make it work more than others. isn't isolationism and vigilateism better than fascism? switzerland kicks ass. if we'd followed george washington's advice about isolationism we wouldn't have set such a destructive capitalist precedent for the rest of the world.

 

I see, but have you ever been there? Traditions have tendency to be based on what was, not what is. I have a friend who lives there, she tells me that there is nothing too special about the Netherlands anymore. If there ever was. I might be repeating her prejudices, but there you have it.
One thing It is fairly well known about, the Netherlands has (or had) the highest wire/internet taps in the whole world. So many infact they stopped counting them. Racist incidents have increased, even the drugs laws are falling apart. Nice architecture though
