Yeah the first three were awesome but then his latest one I didn't even get through. He split the book into two parts and all the characters I cared about weren't in the first one... oh well.

Sweet series. I've finished all of the ones that are out by now. I wish he would hurry up with the next one. It's apparently done but he keeps pushing the date back so he can edit.. it won't be coming out till next fall

I'm halfway the second book of A storm of swords. Holy shit, this is exactly my kind of fantasy. Yeah man, it's already among my favourites with Kerr and Hobb. I'm reading through these books like a mofo (too bad it isn't finished by far) :cheers2:

Absolutely amazing series. I love the in depth characters and the way that the intricate history of the world is introduced bit by bit through dialogue. Too bad the next part is taking so long... Feast for Crows was a bit hard to get through, IMO. Seemed a bit dry, and the POV characters weren't the interesting ones.

    Who's your favorite character?

Mine is by far Tyrion. (I think Tyrion is a probably popular choice... I think that Martin said at one point that he was his favorite character as well.)

Tyrion is brilliant, one of my favourites for sure, but there are so many cool characters I can't pick one fav :D. I really like how his brother's character develops as well. I also dig the parts with Sansa, great contrast with Arya. Only important characters I don't particulary care for are Samwell and Cersei. But what about Beric Dondarrion, or that guy Bronn. I really like Hodor as well by the way  And Jon Snow of course :cheers2:

God damnit.. it's been so long since I read these books.. I barley remember what's happening.

I need to re-read them once the next book comes out, haha.

If I do that I can reread all the books again when the next one appears. I might just wait until there's more out. Did that with the Wheel of time as well. Didn't feel like rereading 8 books every few years. :D And it's impossible to remember everything in these kind of series hehe.

Amazing series indeed. I can't wait until "A Dance With Dragons" comes out..but it's taking forever. Keeps getting delayed and delayed..bah.

I hear ya..I was a bit disappointed with that one too..however..if you keep reading it's worth it (at least it was for me). I agree though..I really did hate how it was split up.

Didn't bother me one bit. Only thing that's bothering me is the long wait for the next part.

Yeah, that's what it is for me actually..lol. Some of my favorite characters were missing from "A Feast for Crows" (like Tyrion, Jon Snow, Bran, Daenerys), and I'm really impatient..so the waiting is what bothers me.

Hopefully it'll be released this year :D *crosses fingers*

Anyone seen the HBO show? Thoughts?

My boyfriend and I have been watching it. I'm actually pretty impressed. They've messed with the story a bit but mostly in understandable ways and the quality of it is amazing. It's like watching a quality movie.

Two favorite characters in the books are Tyrion of course and Arya. I like her spunk and that she's a girl who isn't happy being "normal".

I wait for the HBO series until all 10 are released! There are too many fav characters... Tyrion and Arya are pretty awesome indeed, but what about Petyr Balish or Brienne? Beric Dondarion? Definately also favs here. And of course Jaime who gets more and more intruiging during the series. Well, I could go on and on, the loss of fav characters and emerging and intruiging side characters are about my fav thing about these series :)

I rarely have this with books but I really feel some frustration when I think about this series, I want the rest of the story!!

Yeah, Jaime's actions start to make more sense as the story progresses.

I like most of the main characters to tell the truth (though it's hard to find anything redeeming in Cersei). But Tyrion and Arya just stand out for me. I'm always excited to hit one of their chapters.

I'm terribly curious how these ressurrections will be explained. And of course the threat in the north. What's happening east will effect the story a lot as well of course but I find that slightly less interesting so far (the parallels with our worlds history aren't intruiging me much here, but I do like the plains tribes). Oh yeah, also those old creatures of Westeros and just the different royalty like those of the Iron islands aiming for power or wealth... damn, fantasy doesn't get better than this :p
And yeah, that longing for a chapter about one of the more fav characters sounds recognizable :)
