In books of notable/great Australians they always seem to have the same people. So who do you consider to be great Australians? They don't have to been born here, just spent some of their adult lives here.Let me start with:

    1. Peter Cundall

    2. Phillip Adams.

    3.Bill Mollison.

Peter is awesome!! Haha. Also i think Craig nicholls of the vines is a great australian. He stuggled with an addiction to pot but kicked it and is still making awesome music despite also being autistic (spelling?). Also the success of the vines overseas i think gave the aussie music industry a bit more credit. Bob brown of the greens seems like a cool dude so i'll give him a mention as well lol.

    peace

Robert Hughs talks with such perfect enunciation that he can make a word like horse-hit sound respectable.

    Ned Kelly.

Ned Kelly was one of the first Australian people we got to learn about when we started weekend school in Australia. He was a bushranger and came out against the police in a metal jacket and helmet. He stood there shooting at the police and has been maybe immortalized in Australian Law? Almost like a Robin Hood of sorts.

Of course poor Ned forgot to protect his legs, so while his upper body was well protected in his metal armor, the law just blew out his legs.

Still the stand off between his gang and the law is a legend in Australian Folk Law. :)

Yes, Steve Irwin was. He was one rare individual that was a treasure for the entire planet....That is what made him so special......and that he cared about the lives of other species.....an all life matters person....I was so sad when he died.

I am pretty certain that he was not one who would have sentenced that sting ray to death that killed him, either.
