I supported him last time. This guy's platform and political history makes him a genuine human being trying to make a change towards peace, non-violence, a government supported by the people, for the people. He want to ditch NAFTA and the WHO.

He called for the impeachment of Cheney! I love him!

I gotta respect Kucinich for what he stands for (in particular, having the balls to call for Cheney's impeachment), even if he is a long shot.

How is 4th place thus far a long shot? The mainstream media has really manipulated the *general* opinion of the public. If the media blocks out the truth than they affect ppl's general impression. Remember the last election? THey never even reported on the lost votes that disappeared out of Taos NM (Rumsfeld (sp?) owns land over that way, and he is despised immensely) thousands of votes just vanished. Strange how a democratic strong hold leaned mysteriously republican...

Kucinich a very electable candidate. Better than Obama (he has deeper grassroots, he's been in the trenches longer, and has never been corrupted) you have got to check out his bio..

This guys IS one of us, and he's kept his vision pure. He's better than Clinton because he's against the war, NAFTA, WHO. He's never compromised for big money (Clinton has).

It's time to get what we want! Elect as candidate thats for REAL. We can do it, we CAN believe and manifest it.

Be the Change, take back the government from the machine. The dominant society wants us to roll over for either CLinton or Obama. Clinton is part of the machine and Obama is a smoke screen . He's too green. ANd he's not tested. He needs more experience with big government. I'm sure he'll concede to a Vice President scenario...

If these candidates win out over Kucinich, it'll be business as usual, and the suffering will continue.

Learning about Kucinich's history, he's FOR REAL. (he's a vegan too!)

But also, I'm cynical about our voting system. I think that there might be a chance that votes will lost again, or ppl will get turned away from voting, or they will make voting so difficult ppl will give up.

Last election Colorado tried to get the populist vote back. I'm for that as well.

To me, Chomsky's metaphors of the "2 headed monster" being the democrats & the republicans, 2 different parties same monster, one head drinks pepsi & the other head drinks coke.

I also think the USA & CHINA are like that as well. We have very similar voting systems. We vote, but the electoral council decides were our votes go to.

I don't like it that my vote might be hijacked by another candidate belonging to the same party.

ALso, it's time for more parties and more competition. It's asinine how the 2 party system farts around, good healthy competition, and get to work!

Did you hear about Nadir suing the democratic party for systematically getting his petitions to get on ballots thrown out? NOt very democratic, I'm so sick of the wishy washy democrats.

Kucinich may be a democratic, but he's Socialist at heart, he moves and speaks like he's for the people.

Democrats are Republicans whores. Way too compromising.

It wasn't too long ago that populist movements demanded better, and with the fantastic manifestation of true representational government sweeping latin america, s. america...

Why can't we BE THE CHANGE TOO?

Agreed, the powers that be want us to believe he's a long shot so we don't "waste" our votes on him (though even his web site claims he's a "long shot").

I for one will vote for whom I feel is best qualified to represent the best interests of the people of this country, regardless of who has the best shot at it, whether or not I'm "throwing my vote away." I don't plan to vote for the least of the evils next time around (I hope we're not faced with that decision again this time around after the primaries).

Kucinich is definitely a contender though, I was disappointed he didn't get a shot at it last time.

    ...and screw Clinton...

So what's the big hype about Ron Paul anyway? He seems like a good guy and all, but if it comes down to a vote between him and Kucinich, I'll vote for Kucinich. If Ron Paul gets in there and Kucinich doesn't, I might have to bite the bullet and vote R- Re- Repu- (can't say it, but I will if it comes down to that). Wouldn't that be the dream election though, Ron Paul vs Kucinich?

Ron Paul has a stronger or more diverse base of support than Kucinich..dont get me wrong, I never thought Id support a Republican candidate but hell Ron Paul is a very reasonable candidate and wants a return to state's rights.

I have consistently wrote in Kucinich in the past, but I think if given the choice between Ron Paul and Kucinich my bets on the good Doctor.

Kucinich is anti gun so that chases me off. For example: he wants to require a license for gun possession, he voted NO on prohibiting product misuse lawsuits on gun manufacturers (hows that for common sense? So if a hunter uses a deer hunting bow to kill someone we should sue the sporting goods company?). We have a popular culture full of violence through TV (by the age of 12 a boy and many girls witness on average 500 murders on television) and foreign policy (where we cowardly sponsor or sponsored in the past, "drive bys" in every single continent). Countering those factors is key in reducing violent deaths, not more wasteful Federal laws.

Kucinich though seemingly well intentioned by all of my estimates favors more government rather than less. We need a return to local and state politics, or perhaps a total revolution in the way we structure our society. Either way, the first step involves cutting out the middle men in the District of Criminals

    Thanks for listening

BTW...I dont fully disagree with strengthening some of the gun sales processes but the 2nd Amendment is still relevant regardless of the facts that the media would like you never to know about law abiding citizens protecting life and property with firearms.

Thanks for the interesting perspectives on this and the Ron Paul thread, you bring up some good points, 'sounds like you've got a good handle on things. I'll probably stick to my guns tho (no pun intended).

What a statement by the citizens of USA if Ron Paul and Kucinich faced off! Unfortunately, I don't see as much in ANY media, mainstream or otherwise, about Kucinich or Mike Gravel as I do about Ron. Even tho I am from a family of died in the wool Dems, I HATE party lines and I would vote for the guy who seems to have the most FIRE and PASSION, so it is looking like it's Ron. I watched Kucinich last time and he has the aura of "I know I don't really have a chance" about him, which makes him a loser. I don't mean that at all in an insulting way, I just really don't think Dennis or Mike have what it takes to defeat the QUEEN B.... or Obama either, but I have a feeling that Ron MIGHT be able to pull it off. In fact if I were a BETTING person, I'd say that Ron could very well take the majority of votes, and make it so obvious that when they declare Clinton as the winner, there will be a mighty riot...

All I have to say about the *we need guns* mentality is watch "Bowling for Columbine" Brother I'm not even going to argue this gun debate.

I mean really it's time to elevate the consciousness.

I dislike party lines as well, I'm for multiple party representation, if you study Kucinich's bio. and have seen what work he's done, I'd doubt you'd say he lacks fire and passion, he's also intelligent and a PACIFIST..

I swore from the last election never to vote democratic again, yet I am finding Kucinich to be the only one with truth and justice, and peace & nonviolence, and ending corruption...

I'm not posting here to sway a vote, I'm just declaring my Solidarity with a person of integrity..

I am working toward a government that brings back the equalizing effect of federal regulation. Truly a government BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE.

Deregulation has screwed the proletariat and profited the wealthy. Social programs, liberties, civil rights, healthcare... all for profit because of this capitalistic "I have mine so fuck you" mentality...

All I can say is I'm glad you started this thread, I'm fired up about Kucinich, and I recommend anyone who hasn't gone to his web site to do so now.

Why is he the only candidate who's called for impeachment? Everyone, including the Republicans, would benefit, yet they all sit there like cowards.

Up until recently I had plans to quit the Democratic party. My parents were Democrats, and I've been registered Democrat my entire adult life, but after the pathetic display of betrayal from the sheeple we put into congress last year, I'm down right disgusted. However, I'm gonna hang in there another year, make sure Kucinich gets my vote in the primaries, and see where it goes...

You should be. Some 'opposition' party. Whoop de doo.

Kucinich for the Democrats and Ron Paul for the Republicans actually both stand for a lot of the same things. That's why the big shots in both parties will do everything they can to see they don't get elected, because they threaten the status quo. I'm glad somebody does.
