I dont really know how I really got into the whole hippy thing it was about a year and half ago though. As time as gone on I've become a lot more into the hippy ways and beliefs and feel as if this is what I was meant to be. The other day however my friends got on the topic of "fake hippies" and considered me one. My friends, who none are even close to hippies, somehow consider me fake. I guess I can understand this in a way because to them I"m still the girl i was only a year ago but I want to prove to them and to everyone that I am not this so called "fake hippy" because there are a lot of girls/guys i know who think its cute to buy hippy like clothing or stupid victria secret jakets with peace signs on it. I do have many tie-dyed shirts and peace ones but I am not like these people who do it because its cool. I have been trying to make a difference and be a more peaceful person, I'm also in a club at school that celebrates diversity and tries to make ignortant people aware of issues going on, I also spent time over the summer out of country helping poverty stricken people. I want to be a so called "real hippy" I just dont know how to go about this transformation. If you have any thing you could input it would be great peace.
amen! as long as YOU know who you are, that's what matters. to hell with what everyone else thinks. you sound like you know yourself and beginning to evolve into the person you were ment to be. this is a fun and exciting time, and eventually you are going to meet people who know you for real and aren't going to try to label you. and another thing.....dont label yourself!!!!
But hate dumbfucks. Leeching, Arrogant, Pretentious, LAAZZYY, Unintelligent Idealistic Duggies. You guys aren't hippies. Your just all of the ^
LABELS ARE FOR SOUP CANS! Jesus man be yourself! Do you have a name!? Cause if you do you could just go by that i guess and be...umm...yourself.
You may think that "druggies" are not on the right path, but that doesn't mean you should hate them. A true "hippie" loves everyone.
i'm stoned & lazy i guess im worthless but skeebop..your from here? come on over i'll show ya what a lazy stoned idealist can do
you are what you are & thats all you gotta be you dont gotta justify who you are to anyone but you if your happy being you then your good at being you. thats the key to being your true self the key to being a true hippie if there is such a thing
you know who you are and thats all that matters! but i know where ur comming from because my friends do not get me! They think there real, but they all try to dress the same and act the same to fit in.
My friends always call me a hippy. I used to think that I was being fake. So I cut my hair, wore shoes and stopped wearing shorts and even changed the way I talked. And my friends still call me a tree huggin' hippie. You are who you are no matter what you look like. But you do feel cool with home made bell bottoms and tie-dye shirts on. Just be yourself and if other people call you things, forget them. My friend is a very conservative person, but is thinking about going to Berkley so that he can getsome get a contrast of opinion. Maybe you should try something like that. But I say if you believe in love, your hip enough.
As a card carrying hippie and certified "hippie designator" I hereby declare lilyflowerr a true and actual hippie. Now go in peace my child.
lol. This is funny, but kinda true, ya know. A while after I got into the sixties, I got my fist "hippie"-type skirts... from JC Penny, lol. Now, I've started making my own skirts. Anyhow, I agree with all of the awesome people here - try not to worry what people think about you. I know it may be hard, especially when it's your friends, but there's nothing like the freedom of not caring what other people think about you, lol. And try not to worry so much abou being a "hippie." It's really not worth it to change yourself just to conform to a stereotype. Just be. Peace, and good luck, sister.
