Hello all, my friends dad said when he was younger, him and his friends would go around collecting banana tree leaves and use them as rolling papers, he said they were great. I was going to try this but was wondering if there are any hazards to smoking these leaves. Also have any of you tried this?
you just scrape off a few layers with a sharp knife, to make it thinner- then dry it for a small while, add the dro, roll it up and use duct tape to stick it together
u dont mean actual duct tape, the glue, get a knife and scrape the glue off and make a stripe with it, it will stick it nice and well. you could use wallpaper paste if you want, nothing else wil work for banana leaves see
Ha.. yeah my dad was just talking about this mike.. i asked what he used, he mentioned gum, but I'm not sure that will work.
Interesting, on to something important: I think we should just stick with regular papers for now man.
Oh we will, but someday we gotta try those leaves, just cause there everywhere, you never know when we may need them!
Oddly, reading this made a couple business schemes pop into my head. #1. A company that sells consistent-quality banana leaf rolling... leaves. The all-natural thing might attract lots of people, it might work. #2. It seems like it might already exist, but you could make some kind of dispenser for joint-glue. It might work in a glue stick form. It's the kind of thing people would buy even if it's not necessary at all. On the other hand, most people just use rolling papers and don't need to improvise.
