High Skip. How come there are not more of Amsterdam's coffeeshops in the coffeeshop guide? There are many other quality coffeeshops, that deserve a place in the guide, if the number of hits to the guide justifies adding more shops. Just my 2 euro cents. Peace.

People can post up reviews on anything there. :)

We did leave out ones we didn't think were worth reviewing including some popular ones.

Delmondo has not been a coffeeshop for about 2 years and they are not even smoker friendly now. How does anyone rate the weed/hash at Sensi since the Amsterdam coffeeshop has not sold weed/hash in over 10 years? If you are going to have a coffeeshop guide, it should be up to date and not of made up reviews.

Coffeeshops that are not worth reviewing?!? What does that mean? Wether the shop is good or bad, isnt it still worth a review for prospective customers? I think it is but what do I know? Peace.

itsamagicallife, I couldnt agree more! Coffeeshop guides, like this one, SHOULD be kept up to date and not just made up of reviews. Reviews are good for some folks but an up-to-date one is alot more useful, imho. Peace.

Don't know what you mean, cause all those reviews have THOUSANDS of comments AND ratings on them, which pretty much keeps it all as up-to-date as can be.

You'll note many places have gone up or down over the years as the comments attest.

Um, not really. Cause if you know how the Internet works, if you post a BAD review, many people will remember the name of the place, but not necessarily that it was BAD. So they end up going there cause they read a review, regardless of how it was reviewed.

If a place is BAD why give it ANY advertising at all? Why take a chance someone will pass by it thinking "Hey, I saw that on a website, so it must be good!". Remember, bad publicity works just as well as good publicity. It still brings business.

By kept up to date I mean keeping up with all the different Amsterdam coffeeshops that change owners, are closed down permantely, closed for remodeling, name changes, etc. I think the reviews and comments section is great. People can see if others have had consistently good or bad experiences at a particular coffeeshop (of the small quantity of shops that you have listed).
I feel like alot more, if not all, coffeeshops should be listed for it to qualify as an "Amsterdam Coffeeshop Guide". Peace.

If people go to the Amsterdam Coffeeshop Guide and read several bad reviews for a certain coffeeshop, they should know that it is risky (as far as a nice time and good herb goes) to go to that coffeeshop. I believe that not only good reviews are helpful but also bad experiences at a certain shop. I, for one, definately, dont go to shops that have several bad reviews. Everyones experience is different in different shops but if the shop gets well deserved bad comments, then I think that is helpful for other visitors as well. I dont recommend *known* bad shops to people and I dont think others would do that either. The idea is to inform people about the many different shops; whether it be good, bad or indifferent. If people read about a shop and cant remember or havent written it down, and still visit the "bad" or questionable shop, then the error is on thier part, not the fault of the coffeeshop guide but at least it is there for thier general knowledge. Just my 2 euro cents. Peace.

That SUCKS! Bet those coffeeshop owners are crying big time! Can't believe the coffeeshop lobby (usually led by Arjan) couldn't do anything about that.

Oh well the nanny state is coming to Europe, y'all might as well get used to it...

i lurk on that board but don't post. i'm confused by the plug though.....
if there were icr's on this board they would already know about the smokeout from reading it on the icmag board. if your just looking to promote the event to a bunch of non-icr's then say so :)

    Regards

hey guys, i have a small question and concern about the coffee shops in amsterdam. i am soon going to embark on a trip there with a group of my friends and two of them are will be 17 at the time of our trip. i have been aware of the 18 year old rule in asmterdam for the buying of weed, hash, ect. but do the coffee shops regularly card for the age? is it okay for an 18 year old to buy the goods and then share with others...and some under 18? do you have ot be in a coffee shop to smoke weed or can you take it other places?
the help will be very very appreciated, thanks

I just got back from 2 weeks in Amsterdam and must say that I saw more shops asking for I.D. then ever. I also noticed that they were adament about asking for EVERYBODIES I.D. when a group of young looking kids walked in and wouldn't serve anybody if any one of the group was under 18.

This guide is weak and not well though out or prepared.
45 out of 300? What is that? And who decided which shops to include someone on crack? Poorly presented and a jumble of BS and incorrect info.
This so called "guide" only serves to confuse people and give bad advice.
